  1. Where is the party? And can I just show up and eat all your food and catch all your fish?....HaHa
  2. thats cool, thought maybe it was a ranking or something. Like time in grade. Thanks for the info.
  3. What subscriptions are available and why cant I view them? Also...what do the fish names on the profile represent? Mine says bleeding shiner. Anyway I can be something other than bait?...Haha
  4. Went out for a couple hours this morning. The bite was off. I did catch a goggle eye on a rapala but I think he bit more than he can chew. The bait was half the size of him. Got my prop wrapped in the hydrilla at the mouth of Bull and bust a sheer pin. Man that stuff is growing fast. Almost has the whole creek impassible at low water. Needless to say My day went Murphys law way. Should have just stayed home HUH? HAHA Well, better luck next week.

    Hello All

I wouldnt say I have a honey hole. Somedays I can cover 4 miles of shoreline. I am a run-and-gunner type fisherman. Always moving and my trolling battery feels it too...haha. I only have 2 rules when it comes to Taneycomo. Never fish above Roark and never fish on the weekends. I have a thing about elbow to elbow fishing and sharing shorelines. I cant stand it. And when the traffic gets so bad my boat never stops rocking I call it a day. People dont have any respect anymore. When I was a kid my Gramps and my Dad taught me to slow my wake when passing fisherman and up until 10 or 15 years ago it was common knowledge. Nowadays its a mindset that people think they own the lake. It gets frustrating. Of course in my day kids respected thier elders too.......go figure
  6. Raps and shallow diving cranks work great. I actually catch 7 out of 10 of my brownies with deep divers and vertical jigging RatTraps. Caught a 5.4 pounder just last Friday jigging a Chrome bleeder RatTrap. The key to brownies is to size up and sacrifice quantity for quality. And work cover. Like Bass. Invest in a lure retrieving telescope. Unless you want to decorate the lake bottom like an Xmas tree. Could get expensive. Haha... Have to fish the knarly stuff to get the big browns.

    Hello All

Hello there. Have a question if you dont mind.....What is the significance of the fish names on members log in names?
  8. Fished for almost 3 hours before lunch. Cold out but the Bass still bit.Was using Raps and Lil Jennys. Only short ones but did catch double digit amounts(13). Caught them all in the first hour. Then nothing. I either caught a chill or the temp dropped. Didnt catch a thing last 90 minutes or so. Was glad I never got more than a half mile from my dock. Started sleeting on the trek home.
  9. As a 30 year resident on Taneycomo I can appreciate anything local and fishing oriented. I hope I may be able to give some useful information in the future. I live on the lower part of Taneycomo and fish it 4 to 6 days a week. (No boast). Primarily for Bass but when the conditions (and my appetite) are right I do like the trout as well. I find trout fishing a bit too easy…. Sort of like bluegill fishing to me. (My kids loved it when they were little) So it is probably no surprise the majority of my trout fishing is Trophy hunting brownies or catching a quick limit of bows for the dinner table. I am a Bass man. Living on a trout lake. So if the Bass are being stubborn it is easy to switch gears to brownies since you have to use similar baits and tactics. My biggest brownie ever caught was in 03 and she was a whopping 14 pounds. My biggest Como Bass was this past summer at almost 7 but that is nothing to the 18-pound peacock I caught on Lake Gatun in 93 or the two 11’s I caught at Guerrero in 06 and Fork last March. I also get on Tablerock (the Rock) regularly with my biggest being only 5 but it was a smallmouth so there you go. Also fish Norfolk a couple times a year and have fished Bullshoals and Beaver a few times in the past. My family says I have gills I am on the water so much. I have also done dozens tourneys in the past and even was a fishing guide for 8 years. Well, my “Hello” has turned into a resume. Haha, I guess I have no trouble tooting my own horn. I have no problem sharing tactics either so I will post my exploits if you’re interested. Just keep an eye out. May success follow your every cast!
