My buddy built a 6'6" medium light rod for me on a St Croix scv blank. He put titanium guides on it and made a burled cork handle. I put a chronarch 50MG on it. It is a beautiful rig and a joy to cast. Light as a feather. Before I use a new reel I strip it down and clean all the factory grease out of it. Then I polish with jewelers rouge the spool shaft, inside the pinion gear, the brake ring and the drag faces. then I use a little powdered graphite on the drag and Quantum hot sauce on the gears and bearings. Makes a good shimano even better. turp
