  1. I have fished Lake Springfield many times a couple years ago. The access off of Evans road by the Veterans Cemetery is a good start. Ive used a canoe and have caught a lot of bass up stream from the 65 bridge. I used a plastic worm, 6.5 inch blue electric culprit and had really good luck with some nice bass, I have also used a small jig and crawl to catch a few. I caught a lot of bass with several in the 4 to 5 lb. range even during the heat of the day during the summer. During the winter the colder the better, fish across the lake on the North side just up from the Dam across from the water outlet from the City Utilities using a finesse worm, I have caught a lot of fish from the bank on the north side of the lake using the finesse worm on light line. I have also seen several people catching some nice fish in the warm water outflow during the winter using live shiners. I have never kept any of the fish I have caught from Lake Springfield but they are fun to catch.
