Coyote, the deep bite is better with the sun and no wind, it positions the fish in the deeper trees and makes them school up. If it is windy or cloudy, they will be more scattered, but you can still catch them, you just have to search around a little more. If you don't have any luck out deep, try some of the larger docks in the major coves and creeks, like Eric reported. That is where most of the Largemouth are right now. Hope this helps.

Haven't tried fishing for them yet, but with the number of shad around the bluffs, I would say vertical fishing some live minnows around the submerged trees along the bluff banks would do the trick. Should be in 30-40ft. of water right now. Don't be suprised when you catch some big Kentucky's too while you are fishing for crappie!!

Report for Table Rock Lake 1/11/08: The Kentucky's are really starting to school up in the Dam area to Long Creek. Got out and fished a couple of days this week and found most of the fish on bluff end and channel swing banks. Most of the fish seem to be holding in 40-55ft. of water right now. I have been catching them on Bink's spoons after locating them on my graph. Most of the fish seem to be relating to submerged trees on these points. It is a real exciting bite, because you can sit in one spot and catch several fish without moving the boat. This bite will get better as the water cools down more and the fish stack up better. Look for the schools of shad on your graph, and you will find the more active fish. On several occasions, as I was bringing in a fish, I could see 3-5 other fish following the one I caught. Farther up in Long Creek and Cricket Creek, the Largemouth are still biting a stickbait pretty good. I talked to my tournament partner, Guy Frahm, and he has been catching some decent size Largemouth on the channel swing banks with pole timber on them. This bite seems to work better when there is some wind, and on days with no wind, Guy has been catching some by swimming a grub on these same banks. Phillip Stone http://ozarksfishin.com
