Last year in mid-September, I convinced a bunch of fly fishing friends to make the trip with me. We stayed in a cabin and floated the river from Greer's Ferry to Gilbert. Great trip, gorgeous area, but poor fishing. I must say that a front moved in the day after we got there though and brought some cool weather. I suspect that had something to do with it. I'd like to make the trip again this year, but want to try to improve our fishing luck. I'm thinking of staying in Gilbert. Is there a particularly good time of year to fish in the Buffalo? Especially for smallies?

Hello all, it's taken me a little time, but I'm finally here. I grew up in South Florida, currently live in Texas, but love the Buffalo River. My parents moved to Marshall/Leslie a couple of years ago and I fell in love with the area. Hope to learn more about it on this site. Thanks, Karla
