  1. Thank you for the input. Our back-up plan is and always will be the Gasconade. We rack up the numbers there in July but were looking for a new option since we have done that river for the past 5 years. We don't mind dragging, as long as it isn't the entire 20 miles. We pack light, but are definitely fish first in orientation. I guess we will watch the water levels, but want to make it down if we can. At what level do we say it is too low? Is there someone better than the rest to haul us? Andy at Route 66 canoes in Devil's Elbow, Mo. is absolute money for the Gasconade or Big Piney if you are up that way ever. He knows every access including the private ones. Thanks again all, Mark
  2. You are welcome to join us. We have a 12ft. OT and a 15 ft. OT coming down. We plan on putting in Thursday the 15th, early. We kind of, sort of picked the Crooked as well, to shake off some of our fat! Most of our crew pack everything they own. It works on the Gasconade, but we have given warning this will be different. Bringing a purifier. Next spring, 2 of us are planning a 7-10 trip day on the Gasconade.
  3. We usually do the Gasconade every July, but have procrastinated on doing the Crooked Creek for years now. I know that July may be a tough month to come down, but we finally have the time to make the trip this year. We are planning to do a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and until done on Sunday trip from Pyatt to Yellville. We are looking for a good haul and any tips or info that anyone is willing to give up. Thank you kindly, Mark
  4. Coming down from KC to canoe and fish, well really fish and canoe on the Gasconade. How is it looking? We could still do the Piney instead, but I prefer the Gasconade. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Mark
  5. Floating Hwy. 133 to Roubidoux. Planning on fluke and tubes. Any suggestions?
  6. My buddy and I are floating next weekend, the 21st and 22nd of March. Where should we go for a 7 to 14 mile trip and what should we pack to catch?
  7. My buddy and I are returning to the Gasconade next weekend. Never done a trip this early in the season. Looking to do 7-14 miles between Saturday a.m. and Sunday afternoon. What is the best run and what should we be packing?
  8. Good evening all, Coming down the 28th-30th of November. Looking to do 20-25 miles. We fish non-stop. This time of year where do we want to be on the river? Option 1: 96.6 Mile Marker off Hwy. 7 to Roubidoux Option 2: Schlict Mill to Riddle Bridge Option 3: Roubidoux to the Big Piney We do at least two trips per year on the Gasconade and try to hit April and July. Heard November can be bang-up! What do we need to bring for the Bass? Thanks, Mark
  9. What color were you using? Going the same run on the 18th of July. MZ
  10. How were you fishing the flukes? Drifting or weighted? Thanks.
