  1. Is it too shallow this time of year to float Cane Bluff to Turners Mill? We'll be using sit on top kayaks for an overnight trip.
  2. Sounds like a good day on the river. I've been wanting to float that stretch. Where did you put in and take out? Are there any good gravel bars to stop and camp for the night? Any obstacles to be concerned with?
  3. I was there last weekend and floated from Prongs to Rymers on a three day float. Spent the entire day just below Jam Up Cave on Saturday. At sunset, I landed a 16 1/2 and a 17 1/2 smallmouth on live crawdads. Other then that, little smallies and rock bass were hitting on salamanders.

    Too Shallow?

I sure appreciate the info. I'll let you know how it goes.
  5. I'm planning on an overnight float with my kayak and was wondering if we'll have low water problems. I'm thinking about putting in at mile 18.7, off of HWY U and taking out at Scotts Ford. Does anyone have any personal experience in this section? Is the fishing any good?
  6. The 120 is a great kayak, but I probably would have bought a 14 or 16 foot in hindsight. I pack it as if I'm going back packing. There is a bunch of storage in the bow hatch and on the stern deck and still leaves me enough room for my 12 pack/food cooler and tackle box. I've had it for a couple years now and never came close to tipping it. It handles really well and makes for easy fishing. Have I sold you on it?
  7. Hello to all. I decided to join after a couple days of looking over the site. I appreciate all the valuable info. I'm from St. Louis and have been fishing the Ozark streams since I can remember. Mostly I like foating the Gasconade and Big Piney for smallmouths in my Tarpon 120 on overnight floats. Look forward to chatting.
