  1. Orbearider, Thanks for the report. I will be heading down there this weekend and can't wait. We are floating from Bay creek down to Alley Springs. Were there any downed trees blocking the river the last 7 miles of your float? Thanks!
  2. Well...I talked to a local outfitter and we decided yesterday that we want to put in @ Bay creek and take out @ Alley Springs. The only problem is that one of our buddies spent the night in the hospital from a Softball injury (nothing too serious). Don't know if the trip is still on for the Jack's Fork this weekend, but I appreciate the feedback! We are heading down to the 11 pt river in late May so I might have to wait until then. If we do end up going this weekend I will let you know how it went. Thanks Again!
  3. I am planning a float trip for saturday / saturday night and was wondering where the best place to put in would be. Me and three others will be canoeing, but mostly fishing for smallmouth. I was wondering where the best place would be to do a 5 mile stretch where we could fish and not have to run into a bunch of canoes. Would also like to camp on a gravel bar. Any suggestions?
  4. Looks like the rain isn't that bad in Alton today. Hopefully the river keeps falling!
  5. The river gauge is currently @ 5.90 feet. Does anyone know what level the river needs to be at for a disirable float?
  6. Thanks Brian. We'll need a shuttle if you're interested. Any damage down there? Hope you guys are alright! We'll pray for some dryer weather for you guys.
  7. I'm headed down in the middle of May with a group for a 3 day trip. From the sounds of it we will be heading up stream around Thomasville. What's the river like up there during normal river levels (as far as fishing, gravel bars, size of river, and water clearity is concerned)? We primarily fish for smallmouth so I'm wondering if this stretch of the river holds big bass.
  8. Brian, How long do you think it would take the river to return to its normal size, flow, color, etc...? Assuming that the rains ever stop!
  9. Thanks for the info Al!
  10. Man...another flood? I hope these two floods back-to-back don't have a damaging affect to the river. What do you think this will do to the Smallmouth spawn?
  11. Thanks for the report Brian. Sounds like the flood created a bunch of log jams, I hope that clears up past Cane Bluff. Will there be a team that is in charge of clearing the debris out of the current in order to make it a little safer for this season?
  12. That would be nice. I guess we will have to wait for a few weeks. Forecast is calling for more rain down there. Just hope there isn't any new log jams to get the canoe hung up on!
  13. I was thinking the same thing. Good fire wood has been scarce the past couple years I have camped along the river.
  14. Has anyone been on the river since the flood? I'm curious to see how all of that water has impacted the river in general. I'm hoping for a clearing of log jams, and the gravel bars to be cleaned up. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks
  15. These are spectacular pictures taken by Brian from the Hwy 19 bridge!
  16. Hope this works.
  17. I've got the pictures from Brian, but unfortunately the files are too big to upload. I will keep trying. Any suggestions?
