Thank you all for your responses. I bought this motor direct from Merc Marine in Wisconsin on Gov't contract. I work for the USGS, Water Resource Division in South Carolina. Just wanted to let you all know that the price they sell to the Gov't is $2,895......my office paid $3,100 for it delivered to SC. Just thought I'd give you all a heads up on what the manufacturer cost of this motor is..it may help you in negotiations with your dealer. I enjoy your forum..a wealth of knowledge....if I'm ever in Arkansas.......

can anyone provide a manufacturer of an aluminum john boat with a transom high enough to mount the 25 Merc 4 stroke Jet Drive?
