  1. Thanks for the info Bill! I am trying to talk them into going after the bass and if the guide has a crappie bite going on and they can slide over and get on them. Hope to see you all in the water this spring if I can get a few days away form baseball.

  2. Can anyone point me in the direction of A or some crappie guides on the Rock. I am aware there are not many and this is not a heavily targeted species on the lake but my brother likes to fish for them and would like to link up with a guide first. Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated!

  3. Went out today for a full day trip with another great group. Fished from DAM to Joe Bald area with very good success, found fish still staging in all parts of the lake. In the Morning fish were out in the deeper water from 25 - 30 feet on the bottom. By noon they had moved into the flooded brush line on the bank in 8 - 15 foot of water. Grub was the best but we started to play with new ways to get a bite and found some. We had fish on the shakey jig, 1/4 ounce with a green pumpkin worm. Casting toward the bank and crawling back to boat. Every bite on this was a swim away, so you have to watch your line. Fish will take it with no bite and swim away. Same bite was also on the grub, no bite they were just there and all that was left was line coming out of there mouth.

Next was a pretty good top water bite, for about 2 hours with drizzle and no wind. Shad were busting everywhere in the 30 - 35 foot range. Casting right to the group with a red fin look alike bait and slow rolling back to the boat. Fish would just blowup on the bait. Talked with Eric Prey and he also had a good bite on the spook, I will let Eric tell you about that.

We also has a few fish on a texas rigged worm in green pepper pitched up in the flooded bushes, plus a few on the split shot rig doing the same thing.. All in all fun day of catching with alot of SM and Spots our best 5 went 15 pounds with one nice 3.5 smallie and alot of other fish.

    Good Fishing Everyone..

    Capt. Don

You have to love those days when you have command of all your pitches.

    Thanks for the info!

  4. SKMO you are right that was intended for CMAC. I am with you color is not as important as some make it out to be although cotton candy has been a good color for me on the Rock.

I am no expert but I have find the majority of the fish on TR feed at about the same time everday. That is not to say they all feed at 10 for example but a school that feeds at 10 one day will tend to feed close to 10 the next day. This is jmho.

  5. So you must be in the Arrow Point/Sweetwater/Royal Point area on the Kings.

Seems like EVERYBODY from Wichita is around where I am!

Really muddy today but still clear under the SK bridge, doubt if will do much in the main channel.

Royal Point. You are right it is like little Wichita around SK. Of course we have to come down there to get decent lakes. All we have around here are puddles.

  6. Gotcha. I am about 2.5 to 3 sbove Viola. I was suppose to come down this weekend but the weather changed my mind. I have a friend from here in Wichita that has to be right around where you are.

Anyway thanks for all the excellent reports and I hope the finger heals well.

  7. Just got back last eve. I fished the Kings and it was tough at best. I don't know what kind of beating it took from the big boys but I had very little luck. Lots of pods of shad but not much activity with them. I wish I had a better report especially since I get some much good info from many others on this site. I will be back down there in a couple of weeks and will report again than. Bill you are right it is a very tough time of the year. Anyone fishing the Homer Sloan?
