Howdy, I'm a newby looking for a little insight on when to head to the river for sandbass and stripers. I gleaned a lot of info from ready the previous posts but I am still a little fuzzy on the details. It looks like John Zink dam and pso are the best locals but when is the better time to go. I'm a novice fly fisherman so whereever I fish, I need some open area to keep from snaggin myself. I saw on the usgs website the guage height is back down, would this weekend be good? Any fine details would be appreciated.

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say howdy. I'm an OKC dwellar that grew up in eastern OK. I fish mainly the lower illinois but have begun to frequent Taney. Would appreciate any tips and tricks you seasoned fellars know. Thanks.
