  1. Well we fished Friday from 2 pm-6pm. We caught 21 keeper whites. All of them around Thibault Point. We also caught a few short LM. We used white and white/red 1/6th oz. Rooster tails. This was our best day by far. Saturday began with alot of fog and high hopes, but both faded fast. We went up the Tebo around T6 marker in a few coves in that area. We fished from 7am-noon in this area and had maybe 4 LM shorts all on either a jig or white/chart spinner bait. We fished the whole cove, front to extreme back. My buddy caught two nice whites with the white/chart spinner bait. One measured 15.5 inches. We were very dissappointed in the LM fishing, but I attribute most of that to my own lack of skills. We then went down around KK island with no luck, the water in the area of lake looked like choc. milk. The Tebo had more of a light stain. We ate lunch and ended the day looking for whites. With no wind they were tough to find. We ended the day with only 6 keeper whites. Sunday was a much clearer weather day but we had wind. We went looking for LM past T6 in the Tebo arm in the two coves west of the islands immediately past the T8 marker. Caught maybe 6 short LM on a jig and spinnerbait. We caught on LM on a buzzbait early. Much of the same as the day before. We went for lunch at LongShoal, the philly sand. is great by the way. After lunch we tried the banks to the west of Longshoal all the way down to the bridge. The wind was howling and crashing the north banks. There were about 8 boats in the area all doing the same thing looking for whites, but we only caught 3 keepers. At about 1:30 pm we decided to head back towards Sterret because we had to pull the boat out by 4 pm. Again we fished around the Thibault Point and caught another 10 keeper whites to end our day. Thibault Point was our whole trip, the gentleman at Sterret put us on that area. Much thanks to him. Anyway, a bad day fishing is better than working. It was fun just being on the water. This was my second trip to Truman and I realize I have much to learn. This was my last trip of the year, I'll spend the winter getting a few things straight on the boat, to get it ready for a spring weekend at Truman. I hope this might help someone as I have used many tips from this site to help me. Good Luck. Jason.
  2. Thanks for the help. I will try and give my own report about the weekend on Monday when I get back home. Jason.
  3. Hey guys, I will be down next weekend, the 17-19 with a buddy of mine from Sedalia. We will be putting in at Sterrett Creek. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers as far as where to go(main lake or creeks) and what they are bitin' on. I have only fished Truman 1 other time for a single day. I am not in the Tournament as we are just fishing for fun. We are looking to catch LM and Spotted Bass as well as Whites if the wind starts blowin' on the points. The time I was at Truman, last May, we did OK using a jig/craw shallow. We tried using spoons on the "Weir" as recommended by Longshoal Marina but we had no luck. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated, this is my first year as a bass boat owner and I am learning alot about boating and bass fishing. Thanks in advance and thanks for this site. By the way, I will be in a Black/beige Ranger 374V with a Merc 150 xr4 if anyone is close, stop by and say hello. Jason.
  4. Thanks Capt. Don, I had thought of doing the same but seeing how I would be by myself most of the mornings I thought a 10-20 min. ride to a rental slip would be more convenient. Plus where I am staying there really is no room to keep my boat anywhere. Thanks. Jason.
  5. I am coming to the Rock Aug 1-7 and am staying with family/kids off the lake. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to rent a covered slip w/ elec. for the week. I will be staying near the Dam and will most likely fish from the Dam on up towards Kimberling City. I have an 18' bass boat, so I guess I need atleast a 10' x 20' slip. I'll also need trailer parking and a place to park my truck early in the morning. I've been reading Babler on here enough to know I need to be on the water by 5am. The State Park Marina only has uncovered slips for rent and Indian Point Marina doesn't have trailer parking. Figured this would be the best place to find more options. Anyone suggestions or knowledge would be much appreciated. I would like to Thank Babler, Capt. Don, Lilley--too many to list, on this site. I drive my wife crazy every night by checking the site for the fishing reports. A big Thank You to all who contribute. Hopefully I'll catch a few and post my results and pics. Thanks. Jason.
  6. Just like to say a quick Hello to all. I've been reading all the past post trying to soak in all the information that I can. I appreciate the site and all the great posts. I hope all are safe with the extreme flooding, wish I could do something but I guess it is in God's hands. I am new to Bass fishing/boating as I purchased my first bass boat last October. I will be at TR on April 21st, staying at Emerald Point. I'll be down for the week with my 5 yo son to do a little fishin'. My wife and 2 other daughters will follow down for the weekend. Hopefully we'll catch a few, but I'm sure the Silver Dollar City passes will come in handy for the afternoons. Hope all are well! Stay Safe. Jason.
