  1. This is a really silly argument. A guy made a bad decision, and didn't head the warnings, and got stuck in a bad situation, which apparently you can get fined for. It is a matter of opinion on whether that fine should be enforced, and frankly i don't care either way. I am just happy the guy was ok, and I am glad that Brian at least did what he safely could to help the guy. I have fished with Brian many times, he is one of the most courteous people on the stream, always helping people with technique or fly selection or anything else possible. I think it is out of line to shame him for thinking somebody should recieve a fine for making a poor decision, especially one that apparently you can get fined for.
  2. I started fishing taney in the fall of 2001 when I was a freshman at drury university in springfield. I caught a 6 pound rainbow my first night ever below rebar and was hooked forever. I fished on average about 3 days or nights a week all through college and had about as many great days as I had bad days. Caught a few hogs and a lot of silver bullets. I will still remember my college days more for my hundreds of days of fishing than my hundreds of days of drinking. Those days will never be here again, but i will never forget them. Taney is a great place to fish, and I always leave there now allready planning my next trip down (which are too far apart my buddy fitz tells me). BK
  3. My favorite rod to fish during the daytime and most of the time at night is an 8'6 5 wt. Gatti. It is a mid to fast rod, yet it has a remarkably soft tip. I find I can fish just about anything from wollys at night to anything during the day. Dries are a bit tougher on it, but realistically, how many dries do you fish at taney. Occaisionally at night I have a 9' 6 wt Marryat (I forgot how to spell it). But it is a great rod that i picked up cheap on ebay that fishes like many of the 5-600 dollar rods I have fished. I don't care what the name on the rod, you just can't go wrong at taney with mid action 5 to 6 weight rod in the 8'6"-9' range. BK
