  1. I fished lake rainbows in North Idaho and Alaska mainly. Night crawlers under a clear float work well. Trolling a Flatfish or Daredevil spoon usually will provoke a strike or two as well. Never rule out a roostertail or a panther-martin spinner.
  2. Hi and welcome from one newbie to another. NICE FISH!
  3. The pic was taken at Woolum. Its a favorite spot of mine and the missus. We were there in March after the flood. It was pretty well torn up and too big to fish. Camping was great though! Yeah, I am ready to hit the river!
  4. How y'all are? I am from over near Fayetteville and enjoy fishing whenever I can. I am hopelessly addicted to smallies and catfish. My favorite spots are the Mulberry, the Buffalo, Kings and Truman lake. I try to combine my fishing with canoeing whenever possible. I found you folks while searching for a fishing report from the Buffalo. Heading over there Sunday for a 5 day trip down the lower river. How are they biting? Hope to visit often and thanks for the site!
  5. Slot limit is the way to go but as has been said, people are only going to follow the law if they want to. I don't keep smallmouth period. There are too many catfish and trout around if I am hungry for fish. I think the floods have played some role in the disturbance of the smallmouth poplulation. As an avid catfisher, I will be glad to see the restocking plan. There is plenty of food to go around in the Buffalo.
  6. New poster here, great forum! We are putting on the Rush to Ship's Ferry float Sunday. I have fished this stretch 3 or 4 times and the most productive lure I have thrown is Mini Dad from Bass Pro on 4 pound test. It catches everything from smallies to punkin seeds. Hot N Tots are pretty good too, in crawfish pattern. Anyone know how the catfish are biting on the lower end?
