Hi all; this is my first post. I have enjoyed all the outstanding tips and reports for around a year now. When I told Mike that I had not yet posted anything yet he of course asked why, my reply of course was "what could I say that someone more in the know than I has already or will post".
Now, I do have something to tell and as I pointed out it will be nothing that we all have not read before on this forum. Everything Mike said was spot on,without enough emphasis on the outstanding courtesy and friendliness of Phil. Not only did he probably save the day (possibly the weekend) for Mike and another of our friends by recommending we take a boat out to allow us to better cover the water. I say for those two simply because; as Mike pointed out, Tim and I were fortunate enough to take our second trip of the year with Dave Welch and have an outstanding day of fishing just the day before, while Mike and John persivered the high water and the sometimes overcrowded wadeable spots to only be skunked for the day. Phil met us at the ramp to bring my reel back to me that I had dropped in the parking lot at Lilly's Landing. Now I hadn't even realized that I was without it yet so I was quite impressed that he would take the time to run up the lake to return it to me; not to mention that I still don't understand how he knew it was mine to begin with. Now I have read many other posts of people speaking of the great kindness that Phil has extended to them on a visit to the resort and now I have seen it myself, and I must say it is a refreshing to see someone operate a business in a destination area with this type of visitor friendly attitude. I am not by any means saying this attitude is isolated to Phil alone, as I said this was my second trip to TC this year. Everyone I have come into contact with in the Branson area have been nothing but "good people". Thank you all.
I won't try to give a fishing report since, I won't be able to give any insight further than anyone else has this whole year. All I can say is fish hard and you will be successful. Don't be afraid to try anything and try often. It seemed to me that the first couple of swings with something different are the best chance for hookup. Unfortunatly we didn't catch anything of great size, just numbers.
I was really looking forward to meeting the imfamous "beaver wrangler" but we seemed to miss that opportunity,so hopfully next time.
So until next time, Thanks to everyone down there and even greater thanks to Phil for the help and Dave and Sara Welch for another great trip.
