July 15, 2009 Stockton Lake Fishing Report
193Champ replied to Thompson Fishing Guide Service's topic in Stockton Lake
I have to roll with Brad on this one, I think everyone appreciates reports, but I could live without the self promoting. A fishing report is supposed to give advice on how to help people catch fish, not a Hire Me report. I believe there is a Thursday night tournament every week out of Ruark Bluff Maybe we could have someone show us how to catch a limit of 5-6 pounders!! -

Found whites from the mouth of Beaver Creek to just past the first bend. Caught 21 with males and females mixed about even. Also caught 2 yellow perch! One was very small the second was probably 11 - 12 inches, great looking little fish. Whites were caught trolling #5 Shad Raps in natural shad and blue colors. With the warm and stable weather it should be smoking the next couple weeks. Good Luck

Last rant on the subject and then I am out. The goal of a forum is to share information for the betterment of the group, did Nathan give out some info yes, was it that detailed no. Basically main lake points and crankbaits, the colors and sizes he gave out are givens for these lakes, main lake points off of creek arms are a given. Bull Shoals does not get enough traffic to affect the fishing (Bass that is, Walleye and Whites are a different deal on this lake), this lake will never get the traffic that Table Rock and Beaver get, never will. The Corp doesn't do this lake any favors either, the lake fluctuations never allow for productive spawns. The only fishing that this lake is really recognized for is Walleye and this is maintined through a stocking program. I used to love this lake 10 years ago, White Bass fishing was great, too bad everyone kept all they could catch and the population never rebounded. Have fun with your lake, I won't be back to it and I am sure the lack of information posted on this lake will continue.

Nathan, Thanks for the report, much appreciated. I fished Sunday really struggled the water temps were down around 44-45 degrees. I did find shad on the sonar balled up in the mouths of the coves and creeks, jigging spoon probably would have done the ticket, I wasn't really prepared for that. Threw a crankbait and a football jig with little results. Forsythian, What is the big deal with sharing a little info? There hasn't been a thing reported on Bull Shoals all summer. If you think this report was detailed jump over to the Table Rock Forum and check out some of the details the guys leave over there! I didn't catch much to speak of this trip but next time I will try and mark some waypoints to share with the group.

Is there still a ramp at K-Dock? Thinking about fishing BS this weekend for a change just curious if this location is useable.
