The white bass have been up the last 2 nights around point 7. It's pretty windy today, but if it quits they should be back again. They have been staying up for a long time so you should be able to get a limit without much trouble if the wind does not keep them deep. Pop r's, little george's, baby 1 minus, or anything else that you can keep close to the surface should catch the whites. If it is windy, then use your graph to locate the fish around the flats at point 7. Then you should be able to fish for them with jigging spoons and catch all you want. Hope this helps a little bit and have fun on your trip down here. It's been some great fishing all year (now that I said that it will turn really bad)

Stockton Lake Fishing Report
Stockton Lake Guide Service replied to Stockton Lake Guide Service's topic in Stockton Lake
Sorry about the delay on getting back to you. For all of you that need info on the gps coordinates for brush piles here they are. Put these in your gps and it should take you to the brush pile. Hope this helps everyone catch more fish. Let me know if I can answer anymore questions Now remember that some of these might not have held, some might have gotten swept away in high water. This will take some work on your part to locate the productive piles. Feel free to call or email with any questions. Lake level 868.25 Water temp 83 Walleye: The walleye bite is still going strong on main lake flats, points and humps in 18-20 foot of water. Use a night crawler on a 1/8 oz pony head and float over the area that you have located the fish on your graph. There are enough fish out there to keep any kid interested, blugill, catfish, drum, and then the walleye. Bass fishing has been good in main lake brush piles. This is a tuff way to fish, but locate the brush in 20 foot of water and throw right in the middle of it. The hard part comes when you hook into a 5 plus lb bass. you will lose some good fish, but you just might catch one that is bigger than the lost one. You can go to the conservation website and get all kinds of brush piles that are not marked on the lake by signs. Most of these piles are fished by crappie fishing anyways so you should still try to bass fish them. Crappie are awesome right now on jigs and minnows in 20 foot of water. Took out a couple guys the other day and we had 40 crappie in 2.5 hrs and only had to release 3 fish. Lots of big keepers. This isn't always the case, but it has been for the past week. Use minnows and jigs in brush piles in 20-30 foot of water. Catfish are biting great on main lake flats on fresh shad and lots are being caught while walleye fishing. If you need some help out on the lake give me a call at 417-208-9535. This will ring the office and home phones at the same time and send me a text if you leave a voicemail. Good Luck Fishing and see you on the lake.

Lake Temp 81 Water clarity is normal Walleye are fair to good on the flats, points and humps lake wide. Use a 1/8 oz pony head and a half a night crawler and drift over the walleye in about 18 foot of water. Use your electronics to locate the fish. We are catching lots of walleye but some have been a little smaller than earlier in the year. Tuesday night we caught 15 fish total. Crappie are good to excellent on jigs and minnows in brush piles in 20 foot of water. Lots of big crappie are being caught! We had 2 limits yesterday and a limit this morning on jigs and minnows. Fish them vertically and pay real close attention to the line. Some of the fish are just eating and you will see your line start to tighten up real slow, just set the hook and have fun (and hope it isn't another limb) Bass have been hitting great on plastics in 8-15 foot of water. Some fish are also coming on crankbaits on main lake points and a few are still being taken out of the brush piles around the state park area. If you are looking just to catch fish for fun, don't overlook the schooling shad. There are lots of kentucky bass under them and these schools can have some bigger fish mixed in with them. Catfish are excellent on main lake flats on fresh shad. Drift with the wind between 8-15 foot. Great way to catch fish and take a kid out to have fun. Just don't lay your fishing rod down and walk away. July ranked up there with some of the best fishing in the state at Stockton Lake. Everyone that has went out has been catching fish and having fun. It's difficult to release some of these fish, but try to remember the more you release the more everyone gets to catch later. If your freezer is already full, just have fun with the catching part and go home and eat some of the ones you already have. If we all practice catch and release then there will always be enough out there to eat for dinner whenever we get hungry. Good luck fishing and give me a call if you have any questions or want some more info.

Once again I didn’t win the prize. Fish don’t like me on Thursday evenings, and I am beginning to not like them as much either. But to make myself feel better we are still leading the points for the season!! Sounded like most of the fish were coming off brush piles in 15-20 foot of water on plastics and jigs . 1st place went to Gabe Underwood and Ken Freeze who caught 5 fish that went 19.04 lbs. The also had 2nd big bass with a fish that went 5.27 lbs. Awesome bag of fish!! 2nd place went to Jay Carter and Perry Ayres who had 4 fish that weighed 11.97 lbs. The big fish was caught by Russell and Rodney Dawson who had a fish that weighed 5.32 lbs. I believe there is still time to make the fish off. We have 5 tournaments remaining and you have to be in the top 60% to make it to the final tournament that will be held October 10 from safe light till 3 pm. Take a look at the point standings and the rules at www.fishstocktonlake.com and come on out next Thursday. We had 13 boats last night and have had 50 different boats fish this year. That means we should have about 30 boats in the fish off. If you have only fished a couple times this year, don’t give up to early. Take a look at the points standings. The final tournament will be free of charge other than the optional big bass pot. Feel free to call me at 417-637-BASS or 417-234-8988 if you have any questions. Great job to everyone that fished last night. No dead fish!!!!

Stockton Lake Fishing Report 06/24/2009 Water temp 80 Walleye have been biting good on 1/8 oz to ¼ oz jig heads with night crawlers on main lake flats and points. Use the wind to drift across the points in 15-22 foot of water. There are lots of bluegill so you will have to move deeper or shallower if you start catching them. The walleye should be close by. Bass have been biting on plastic worms and jigs in 15-20 foot of water in main lake brush piles. It took 19 lbs to win Thursday evening. You will have to become familiar with your electronics and locate the brush piles then back off and cast into them. You will also need to use 20 lb line or a braided line or you will lose the fish in the brush. When you get one of these bigger fish on try to keep them up as best you can and keep them out of the trees. Crappie have been biting great, but lost of smaller fish. About a 10-1 ratio of small to big. If you get in the right place you can get a nice mess of crappie. Again they are in about 20 foot of water in the brush piles and are hitting on jigs and minnows. Catfish have been excellent on main lake flats with fresh shad. Lots of fish and lots of fun for the kids. Just let the wind drift your boat across the flats in 10-19 foot of water then move back up and go again. You shouldn’t have any trouble catching some catfish for dinner. White bass have been surfacing around the googer area. I have haven’t seen them anyplace else, but they should be doing the same thing other places. Throw small rattle traps into the surfacing fish and have some fun. Hope this helps everyone a little bit. Good luck and give me a call if you need any help.

It's in Aldrich I think. Unless he is talking about another place

We had another great turnout and lots of fish caught. 4 fish were weighed in over 5 lbs and 1 over 6. Total there were 33 bass caught with 14 boats fishing. 1st place Gabe Underwood/Ken Freeze 5 fish 17.12 lbs 2nd place Russell and Rodney Dawson 4 fish 12.23 lbs 3rd place Brad Carey/Rick Johnston 2 fish 10.73 lbs Big Bass Brad Carey/Rick Johnston 6.48 lbs 2nd Big Gabe Underwood/Ken Freeze 5.88 lbs Awesome job keeping 100% alive again. Keep the recirculate pumps going and remember to ice them fish!! Still time for everyone to make the fish-off. We have had over 45 different boats fish this year so the top 25 or so will make the fish off. See everyone next Thursday!!

Walleye fishing has been excellent the past couple of weeks. I have been fishing the area around Mutton Creek and Googer, just to the north. Try using an 1.8 to 1/4 oz jig head with a night crawler (use half so the fish don't miss the hook) fish the flats, and the points, but have been catching more on the flats. Feel free to give me a call if you have questions. I will be out there thurs evening and friday so maybe we can hook up and I can show you some areas I have been fishing.

I Still think there is time to make the fishoff in October. If you want to fish the rest of the tournaments all you need to do is make the top 60%. Thanks to everyone that fished and see you next thursday, 6 pm, at Ruark Bluff!! Here are the results from last week: 1st place Jim Flora and Jody Beach 4 fish 11.92 lbs $190.00 2nd place Russell and Rodney Dawson 4 fish 10.56 lbs $100.00 Big Bass Flora and Beach 4.90 lbs $80.00 2nd big bass Dawson/Dawson 3.88 lbs $40.00

Stockton Lake fishing Report 07/10/2009 Water temp 85 Walleye have been biting excellent on 1/8-1/4 oz jig heads tipped with a night crawler. Most of the fish are coming off of main lake points and brush piles in 15-18 foot of water. On cloudy days the fish move a little bit shallower into about 10 foot of water. Crappie have moved to the main lake brush piles and off points up the rivers. 1/16 oz jigs or minnows seem to work the best. Work the fish vertical and try to stay right on top of the brush. Been catching some nice fish in the evenings. Bass as always are biting great. Plastic worms, tubes, jigs, and brush hogs seem to work the best on main lake points in 12-14 foot of water. Texas rigged seems to be getting more bites for me than Carolina rigging, but either should catch you some fish Catfish have been biting excellent in the evenings by drifting shad across flats and points in 12-15 foot of water. You should be able to catch cats without much trouble, so if you don’t get bit, move to a new place. Points close to deep water have also been producing some nice fish.

Any Bait Shops Sell Perch?
Stockton Lake Guide Service replied to showmebassin's topic in Stockton Lake
I just assumed the guy was looking for something to bait a jugline or trotline. I think all the above will work fine. Sorry if it was confusing to anyone, but good luck fishing for whatever. -
I have finally got caught up on the standings for the tournaments. Go to my website and click results. If you find any mistakes or have questions send me an email and I will take a look. As of now we should have 21 boats in the fishoff and have about $850.00 in the pot. Still time to fish the rest and make the final tournament. Come on out at ruark thursday at 6 pm, weigh in at 930 Thanks

Fishing Report
Stockton Lake Guide Service replied to Stockton Lake Guide Service's topic in Stockton Lake
You know I really hate to tell you the answer to that, but here it goes. Most of what I have been catching have been on the flats or long tapering points. Haven't had much luck on the deeper points. If you go out fishing, just look for the groups of boats! Everytime I go out we end up with 4-5 boats around, but there are lots of fish. Going out in the morning so if you are out give me a call. -
Any Bait Shops Sell Perch?
Stockton Lake Guide Service replied to showmebassin's topic in Stockton Lake
you should be able to catch all that you want on main lake points. Just pull up with the walleye fishermen. I've been catching lots of them everyday. -
Walleye fishing has been excellent in that area. If you will be there on sat, just look for all the boats out on the main lake. Use a night crawler on a road runner head and drift in about 15-16 foot of water. Bass are best on main lake points on plastic worms and jigs Crappie are in the brush piles on the main lake. Use jigs and minnows Catfish are excellent also on shad or cut bait drifting the flats. If you need any help while you are up here, give me a call at 417-234-8988 (cell) Hope this helps and hope you can catch some fish with your dad!!

Lake level 868.1 Water temp 80 Walleye are biting excellent on jigs and night crawlers in 14 foot of water. I took out a trips on thursday, friday, and saturday and they all had limits of walleye. We caught over 30 fish on wed, but there were lots of little fish about 14" long. Use your electronics to locate the fish then mark the location with a bouy. The walleye are following the shad for the most part, so if you mark a school of shad drop down to them. Try to keep your bait on the bottom to stay out of the bass that are feeding on the shad. Crappie are being caught in brush piles in 15-20 foot of water. Use minnows or jigs and work it just above or to the side of the brush piles. Again, you will have to use your electronics to find the brush, then mark it and work the area until you find the fish. Bass fishing has been great! It took 19 lbs to win thursday night and they had 2 fish over 6 lbs. Locate brush piles and fish jigs or plastics thru the brush. Try fishing them from different angles depending on water current. Catfishing is excellent on mud flats in 10-20 foot of water on shad. Let the wind drift your boat across the flat to locate fish.

Stockton Lake fishing Report 06/25/2009 Water temp 85 Walleye have started moving to the flats from the points. You can catch fish either place by drifting with a night crawler rig in 16 foot of water. The fish will move around so watch your electronics and locate the fish. Main lake has been the best. Find points that are close to the channel or flats that are close to deep water. They have been biting good most of the time, but some days are better than others. Crappie have moved to the main lake brush piles and off points up the rivers. 1/16 oz jigs or minnows seem to work the best. Work the fish vertical and try to stay right on top of the brush. Been catching some nice fish in the evenings. Bass as always are biting great. Plastic worms, tubes, jigs, and brush hogs seem to work the best on main lake points in 10-12 foot of water. Texas rigged seems to be getting more bites for me than Carolina rigging, but either should catch you some fish. Also, don’t pass up the brush piles on the main lake. I heard someone caught an 11.2 lb bass Thursday night, but they didn’t bring it to the weigh in at ruark. They were not in our tournament, but would have loved to see the fish. I haven’t seen the fish to verify that it was really caught, but I haven’t been home much either to try to find it. Catfish have been biting good by drifting shad across flats and points in 12-15 foot of water. You should be able to catch cats without much trouble, so if you don’t get bit, move to a new place.

Results for Thursday evening 06/25/2009 We had 15 boats of which 13 caught fish. Total we caught 39 fish. Not bad for a 3 hour tournament. Everyone needs to remember that the hot weather is here. The surface temp was 87 on Thursday. Water at that temp can’t absorb O2, so we must be cooling the water and using the recirculate pumps. We had several fish that didn’t look good and I didn’t see anyone that brought up fish where the water was treated with rejuvenate or another product. Also, I don’t recall feeling any water that had been cooled. Everyone needs to bring an extra bag of ice to cool the fish. Cold water will hold more O2. If you have a well at your house, fill up your tanks before you come to the lake. Remember, we don’t count dead fish on Thursday evenings, so do everything you can to keep your fish alive. We have the best bass lake in this state, let’s all keep it that way. Thanks!!!!! See everyone this Thursday at 6 pm. It’s open to everyone that wants to fish. 1st Place Carter/Ayres 5 fish 13.98 lbs 2nd Place McManis/Timmons 5 fish 12.74 lbs 3rd Place Debow/Ruggles 5 fish 11.40 lbs Big Bass Carter/Ayres 4.24 lbs 2nd Big Bass McManis/Timmons 3.95 lbs

Just from my experience I would stay with the humminbird. I have had lots of trouble with the last 4 lowrances I have bought. I have the humminbird side imager now and it is unbeatable for finding the brush piles, drop offs, etc. I have had no problems with it. Just my personal opinion, I'm sure others have had just the opposite. Good luck!!
