  1. Oh well. We ended up not being able to fish the creek anyway. I'll try again next spring!
  2. We went straight to the back of Float Creek and found the bait fish on Friday night. We only had about an hour, but we caught a couple of small ones and decided to start off there on Saturday. We ended up staying back there all day. We caught a total of 34 bass. Most were small with a few in the two pound range, but it was a lot of fun. We caught some on top early, but most were caught on a Texas rigged Baby Lake Fork Creature in watermelon/red. We did catch some on crankbaits including a decent smallmouth. The scenery was spectacular with some good fall colors showing up in the valleys on the water's edge. I'll try to get some pictures on here in a bit.
  3. Well, the time has drawn near. It's been a long week already and I'm really looking forward to just being on the lake this weekend. I'll be headed out of Tulsa around noon tomorrow and with a little luck, my dad and I will get in a couple of hours of fishing and scouting Friday evening. I'm sure we'll just launch at Panther Bay, since that's the closest ramp to him. We plan to fish Norfork all day Saturday and if we find some fish, we'll be back Sunday after church. My dad has to be in Conway early Tuesday, so we'll probably go ahead and head that way Sunday evening. There's a little lake out close to there we want to try out on Monday. Thanks for all your help and let me know if you have any last minute tips or advice. I'll post a report on how we do. I'm hoping the trees have some good colors, so I can get some nice pictures while I'm there, as well. Wish us luck!
  4. Wow. Thanks for the details, Larry. I enjoy watching Hooked on Fishing. Mark seems like a good guy. "Oooooooo, lookie, what a fish!" Pitching in the trees is something that I can handle. I'm looking forward to it. Of course, spending time with my dad is always a treat, but if we can catch some good fish it will be that much better. Thanks again.

    The Shack

I read that a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. It got kind of wordy and repetitive in places, but it was creative and had some good thought provoking moments. Having a 8-year-old and 11-year-old girl, it sure flushed my eyes out and made me give them a little bigger hug after reading it. Definitely worth the read...
  6. We never keep anything. We're just fishing for fun. My dad can't get the electronics to work on the boat that he has access to there, so I'll be bringing my boat. We'll be launching out of Panther Bay. It sounds like they're starting to put the feed bag on.
  7. Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to it and I hope the shallow bite is on while we're there. I don't have much confidence fishing deep. That 3 pound smallie sounds like fun!
