  1. I dont have a problem with people fishing there but others do. If you park at westover and try to go downstream the guys at westover will call the guy that ownes the prop. and he in turn make his own call. I know them all and even I cant fish without permission. that said their not much to fish at my place so I head to the Meremac.JMO
  2. This creek is a private stream as mdc sees it. What it amounts to is "if you own BOTH sides of the river it is private land and you have the right to protect it. ie; westover farms. I only own one bank so I cant stop anyone from fishing, but theirs only a small amount of river that is wadeable from my properity. Westover owns all upstream, another guy owns all downstream to my prop. and someone else owns both sides about 1000 ft down from me. There is only three places to acc. the river, westover, my place, and from the Huzzah. All private prop. is marked well so best wishes if you are caught trespassing. And yes locking your car won't help
  3. I am a land owner and no you cant wade fish without permission. I own the properity down stream about 1 mile but the guy that owns the land from westover down to my prop does not want you fishing his land with out permission.
  4. Oct 31 is the end of the season but the winter catch and reease starts on Nov. 9th. You will be able to still fish at night just need to stay in the river, right behind you.
  5. Fished Suicide hill on Sunday and was suprised at how many people were there. Mose were scattered about up srteam so I went down from the access to the first hole on the left with the large rock in it. Drifting a prince thru the back end of the rock hooked into a nice littel 12" rainbow. He ran alittle into the fast water but not far. Released him and went back 5 steps to where I was standing started again, this time on the front side and down thru. Couple of casts, alittle deeper each time and hooked up again. This one was bigger. never really saw him but caught the flash as it headed again in to the fast water down stream. Thought Id better follow alittle. Wound up about 15 feet away trying to lead him into the swallows but he didnt want any part of it. All of a sudden my line poped out of the water flyless. Darn. Oh well guess I"ll start tying on another and we"ll try it again. Now Im back just down stream from the rock ( about 5' ) get 2 more casts at it and some guy walks in from up stream and starts fishing the same hole. I just looked at him for a moment and said " it a big river, I'll be finished here shortly". Then he reached up and removed the i-pod head phones from his ears and told me that "the rock was a divider". WHAT, were 8' apart. I had a few choice thought but determined it would change the situation so I left and went farther down stream and found afew more in a shallow run on the right. All-in-all had a fine day with plenty of small fish, just be wary of park people with i-pod
  6. thats alot of river to cover in 2 days. Yellow rooster tails have been working well on the swing just cast and hold on. Is that tree still crossing the river just below greer Brian?
  7. the gods are laughing again
  8. Miron and the kids wre all sitting there at the deck when we pulled the boat up and started fishing. when I hooked up they all stood up and watched. The kids even came down and started messing around at the bank. The brown is just under the rocks hiding about 15 ft. down stream from the falls. Good luck
  9. The water was running high and it was washing alot of grass out so the fishing was a-bit of a challange. We caught alot of smaller fish, about 12in long, but at the falls I managed to hook into one that must have been aleast 6 pounds. I have marked my rod with nail polish at 15 and 18 in. and this fish was way over the marks. Trying to release him I had my thumb in his mouth and he bit me back, putting a big gash right in the middle of it. Still hurts. Once we got past Blair we were able to hook up in almost every riffle. By the end of the the trip We had cought (and released) 1 over 6 lb. ,3 around 18-19 in. and a bunch that were smaller but still alot of fun. Oh and if anyone finds my anchor just past Blair, I like it back, blue, short rope, cut clean with a knife (this was alittle scary)
  10. Thought about taking a spring time trip down on the NFOW. Planed on going Sat throu Tues for a little brown fishing. With the rain coming in we left early on Fri. morning and arrived about 8 am. I haven't been down to the river in about 4 years but its a good bet I'll be back before the end of this year. Except for my wife, there was almost no one else on the river fishing, had the place to ourselves. Put a boat in on Sat morning at Kelly's and found one guy kicking the bottom into a net to find some big crawfish and a couple of large stoneflys, and that was about it. I don't think we saw anyone else on the river till we got down to Patrick bridge. As far as the little brown fishing, there was nothing little about it. That river holds more large fish than any other I have fished in years. We wound up staying untill wed. morning when we determined we better leave before we stay forever.
