On my gosh.. that is horrifyingly disgusting!!!!
One time on a guide trip I was guiding, my client went to cast as I was going to go around behind them. The leader literally touched me eyeball.. it was a shockingly scary moment. It was over pretty quickly.. and I intantly put my sunglasses back on.
Man that was yucky to watch.. nice job!

We're staying at the Chatuea and will most likely fish sunday morning, I'm not sure if the hotel has somewhere to hang my waders to dry so Saturday fishing maybe out. I've got a great wife who understands and would be there with me if the temp was up 50 degrees. Can you imagine lugging my waders and boots through the lobby? Probably do them some good come to think about it.
That's funny.. I have been tempted but .. you know they would freak out.
Funny.. if you were able to arrange that one.

I have used it before.. in Michigan for steeheading.
If you rig up the Chuck and Duck rig most of the fly shops use - they will spool it on for you.
If you bring in a reel with fly line on it.. they will take the line off and fill the rest of your spool with more backing and then Amnesia.
So you end up not really fly fishing after all.. just using a fly rod to heave your new difficult rig.
Other than that use... I have used some of the yellow colored stuff in 30lb for leader butt material.

The solution - use heavier tippet.
This can happen while dry fly fising.. sometimes you switch from one really medium sized pattern like a Parachute Adams say in size 14.. then go to a size 8 Renegade. Your tippet will be compromised... stretching itself with each fasle cast caused by the wind resistance and additional weight of the fly.
So switching to heavier tippet will fix all your problems.
By the way - night fishing I use 3X (8lb) or heavier.

The CA Shasta strain rainbows / i.e. Shasta's are Crane fish / spawn in the spring. ( maybe early .. maybe on time. maybe late.. ) That includes the cuttbow looking fish.. not the newly introduced smaller Neosho fish.
Egg patterns fool trout all year The patterns just works!

I echo Greg's and Phil's thoughts exatcly.
Taney is a tough place for it to be your home waters, but my gosh - it is wonderful in all regards.

I think the TT lines perform better with slower actioned rods. (like Winstons)
If you have a faster tapered rod.. go with the Sci-Anglers GPX or Orvis Wonderline G3.
I have used all of them.. but I more highly recommened the latter two lines.

It aint gonna be pretty... but I hear the areas that always hold water will still have fish.
Low water has been such an issue lately.. I sure do not like the trend.

This little fly really has been fishing great lately. Its a CDC Loopwing Emerger.. easy to tie and floats like a cork. Get it slimed.. dry it on your shirt.. get it water logged.. dry it on your shirt. Just don't use floatant!
CDC is from the butt of the duck.. from the preen glands, and I like it!
Here is a bigger picture and the recipe : CDC Emerger

Wayne - yeah.. I was talking about the LumaLux flyline by Rio. I like it pretty good enough I guess.. but when the coating wears the line turns into a daytime stripping / swinging line - cause the coating goes to almost to poo and you just can't refurbish it.
BUT - while it is working good.. it is neat stuff. ---- > Really.
Guys have asked me " Were you that guy with the glowing line.. ?? " cause they saw me charging it on the water. I use my camera flash to nail it on both sides.. (yeah - I take a flash shot on both sides of the fly line.. meaning I have to strip out 40 feet, drop it all on the rocks.. take shot - then grap it all up and flip it over - then take another shot - this seems to last longer than the car headlight charge.
Give the line a try someday.. it is pretty cool. Especially when casting upstream out of my pontoon.. tracking the drifting hourglass eye weighted fly .. it shows you just about where you are.. and that pays dividends when your line takes off and you wouldn't have ever known.
This style of line hasn't quite caught on...

I'm with jdavis.. I really like the wool gloves. If you get them wet - the water shakes out.. and they still retain some heat from just natural body heat... but ...
Once you get the Simms Gore Tex finger cut versions -- you are spoiled for life. Check these :
