  1. It's an Ithaca (made by SKB) model 280. Straight English stock and 25" barrels. Choked IC and M. Great shape and I don't really want to ship it, so we would need to meet in or near Kansas City, KS. If you are out of state, we would need to meet at an FFL for transfer. $1800 or may trade for a camper shell for my pickup (2019 F150) or use the gun for partial trade on a smaller camper. Email for pictures. piperkansas@gmail.com
  2. It looks like I'll get to break free this weekend and do some fishing at RR. Should I expect any dry fly action?
  3. I would prefer the stock steel wheels, let me know what you have. Thanks!
  4. There seems to be some conflicting information here...
  5. I did a search of this forum concerning the legality of using rubber legged flies, such as a nymph with rubber legs or the Madam X. It seems that there was a regulation change at some point that made rubber legged flies legal in fly only zones. I went and read the definition of a fly, and it seems that the rubber legs would still be illegal to me. So, it seems that my version of logic must have some sort of a defect (not the first time). Can anyone clarify the rule/law change so that I don't wind up on the wrong side of the law?
  6. I'm wondering how much success you all have had in the deep pool below the dam. Specifically, before it starts to narrow down some. I've done well on numerous occasion in the section after the stream narrows down, but have rarely caught a fish in the deepest part that is directly below the dam. What kind of success have you all had and on what techniques?
  7. I still have this pack and it needs a new home, anyone interested?
  8. I hardly used this pack. It's in near new condition. The only way you could tell it's been used is that there are 6 to 10 hook marks in the fly holder part. I'm in KC and think this thing is worth $50.
  9. This is great advice. I always stop by, even if it's just to talk to Tim for a minute. He's a class act.
  10. Fantastic! I'm hoping to get my sons into this as well. They like to fish, but have been a little hesitant to try the fly rod. I'm not going to force it on them, but will definitely make it very easy for them to get started if they have any sort of inclination whatsoever. Hmmmmm..... maybe if I played the movie "A River Runs Through It" every night as they sleep..... interesting.
  11. Thanks Wayne! I kind of guessed that they would be, but then I got to thinking that 10 x 15 is pretty big. I used to camp down there in college, but have stayed in a room over the last 20 years or so. My boys are all excited about camping, I just hope that I can get them addicted to Roaring River so we can stay all summer! I went ahead and purchased a tent, now a few more odds and ends and I'll be back in business.
  12. Are the camp sites at RR large enough for a tent that is 10x15?
  13. Found One.
  14. I don't know any of the parties involved here, but I did have a comment, hope it's not considered out of line. The left handed bait casting reels are kind of nice for a right hander because you keep the rod in your right hand for casting, hook setting, reeling, working the bait, etc. and you reel with the left hand. This is the same set up as most right handers have with spinning reels and a lot of right handers set up their fly equipment this way as well. To me, the left handed bait casting reels are really right handed, but my mental capacity has been questioned on numerous occasions. As always, your mileage may vary.
  15. Good to hear. I'll be in to re-stock on a few items either Thursday or Friday.
