  1. A friend just called and said he heard that Powersite dam was damaged again could be some low water again in Taney
  2. I worked for a large midwest utility company that is a member of the southwest power pool for 40 years. Right now the cost of wholesale electricity is cheap with the mild temperatures but can change with the weather and demand but at the present time we have large power plants that are running at half capacity due to lack of demand so i'm thinking that need for power is not an issue
  3. Just wondering if anyone knows why they are doing so much generating at table rock the lake level is below 913 oxygen level is up
  4. Fished from lookout to short creek last weekend and caught dozens of 6 to 8 inch rainbows. I didn't think they normally stock them that small.
  5. I see where bull shoals, beaver and Norfork all had water off this weekend. Wade fisherman we may have to move to arkansas. I sure hope this pattern ends soon I've only been wade fishing twice this year. I work for a large utility that's part of the Southwest power pool and for months we've been backing down our units when the Temps drop off and yet table rock keeps on running 35 mw.
  6. Waded yesterday (friday) below the dam. Started running water with no horns (2 units) people scrambling to get out. JUST BE AWARE OF ANY INCREASE IN FLOW, HEAD TO THE BANK BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY. The corps is going to get someone hurt if they don't change there ways
  7. Thanks Phil for addressing the issue with the Corps.
  8. Wading across from outlet 2 on Saturday Table Rock started generating without sounding a horn. Horn souned about 30 minutes later.I was lucky Mike whistled at me or I would have had a long walk to get back to my car. On Monday I was across from outlet 2 fishing and the water started coming up then the horn sounded. Stopped fishing and started across and by the time I got half way across it was ripping. Not getting much notice for generation if any so BE CAREFUL.
  9. Just wondering what any ones thoughts are on why Table Rock is scheduling 30 MW 24 hours a day. There old usual pattern was heavy in the morning off during the day and heavy again in the early evening and off on the weekends. I work for a utility that is a part of the Southwest Power pool and it seems to me that they have started using Table Rock to meet hourly swings in power demand. I would just like to do some wading.

  11. Waded friday and saturday below the dam trout not active at all.Last weekend saw a dozen dead trout from the big hole to the ramp mostly Browns. Boated to Lookout today caught some on grey scuds Lots of dead trout in the shallows between lookout and the narrows Been fishing Taneycomo for 50 years and have seen more dead trout the last two weekends then I can remember. Table Rock (SWPA) has made a fortune this year generating power with all the rain you would think they could put a little more oxygen in taney.
  12. caught several like that both browns and rainbows on the frying pan
  13. Table Rock lake level approaching 910. Thought I would see a little less weekend generation. Any thoughts Picture of a few fish from recent trip to colorado
  14. Fished Bennett yesterday both in zone 1 and zone 2. Caught lots of fish but in the 50 years I have been fishing Bennett I have never caught so many small trout. Wonder if this is why the tag sales were down last year.
  15. Used to enjoy wading taney on the weekends but their new schedule seems to be water off more thru the week and generate on the weekends. Anybody know whats going on?
