  1. Thank you Mississippi Man! My wife and I both do fly fish but my bro-in-law going also and like just spin cast fishing. thanks
  2. As of now, our plans for camping at Bull Shoal-White River state park is still on. Park called to confirm they will still be open (as of now). Coming over from Tulsa first full week of May. Recommendations for fishing guides? I can call to verify if they are still taking reservations at that time but wondering if anyone had recommendations for good guides to call? thank you
  3. Anyone have any updated reviews on rv camping on the Little Red. The only website that is valid is for Red River Trout Dock; not much info on their site. We are planning a vacation in August. Anyone have any suggestions that are current?
  4. I went yesterday (Monday) as well and had good luck early on midges and then did pretty well in afternoon with adams and elk hair caddis. All small ones though but lots of fun! Highlight of the day was when I thought I would just try a little bit by campground 3 and spotted a bald eagle landing in a tree. Awesome sight.
  5. Haven't posted much here because we just don't amke it down to the LIR. Never had much luck or learning good places to go (my fault). Since I'm an original Mizzou boy, we usually just head to RR. However, after talking to folks, reading on here, my wife and I decided to head to LIR and try again. Glad we did. Went to TM Gravel from advice from friend. I had forgotten about DaddyO mentioning that access closed (see my reply in his previous post about that). Went down to river and upstream a bit. Caught several stocker size on pheasant tail. When that died off, thought I would try some dry action and tied on Adams. Nothing, but saw my wife catching. "What are you using?" - "Adams"!! go figure. haha Tied on a green booger type with black hackle. (something my wife tied for our Bennett springs trip that worked well up there) I just tossed it out and was stripping back and caught a few more. My wife tied on a black marabou and was stripping that and she caught 4-5 there also. Went to lunch and after went to Watts area. Not much luck there, a couple small one on red san juan worm. Headed back to early afternoon after great mornig of fishing, new interest in LIR, beautiful weather! Also, as we went to lunch, just drove by the dam area and several people there. HOwever, we were the only two we saw all morning at T&M gravel. Except 5 deer that crossed the river. Sorry no pics of fish or deer, just memories! haha
  6. Another point of interest was that the access at the end of the T&M Gravel road was blocked. Does anyone know why? Went to LIR yesterday and headed to T&M Gravel but forgot you had mentioned that the access was closed. (will provide report in separate post) I actually ran into either Mr T or Mr M. He said that he doesn't have any trouble or issue with the fishermen, but he has to stop the trouble with others driving on his property and setting up portable meth labs on his property and along the river. They are leaving all the trash and He has also had property damaged and diesel stolen. He is just trying to stop vehicle traffic and decrease the damage and vandalism to his property. He said we could go in as he was going unlock the gate but he would be locking it back up around 10am. We just parked next to the berm he created and walked down to the river. so sad!
