  1. I enjoy using their line of H2O Express bait, especially their poppers. Last time around, had to order them since the Joplin store was out of commission and didn't want to drive to Arkansas. Their firearms are well priced too, compared to other big name stores.
  2. Being limited to shore fishing, this summer was an "off" year. Upper BS had too much flow going so no stripers this year, Truman was unpredictable at times since they were doing maintenance work on the flood gates earlier in the year which impacted fishing but still had a few good days there. With my "dam" fishing being off, went on a few out of the way places and found new holes closer to home and will be back there next year so this summer wasn't a total bust.
  3. More like the quiet bunch. I haven't gone up there since this massive heat wave started happening. Did you happen to see any topwater action while there, that all I live for when I go to Truman. Anyways, good job on the cats, hopefully I can get out there a few more times before hunting season starts.
  4. Its all about GREED when it comes to tournaments.
  5. Congratulations, that thing is a beast. Need to get myself down there soon.
  6. I envy you, I wish I lived closer to Tulsa. I have not pulled anything out of the water this year that compares to those in your pictures. Sometimes it is better to have a quality over quantity day, especially when it comes to the fighting power of these fishes.
  7. Would you be interested in a matching quantum smoke rod (7'4" heavy) and reel (151-left handed)? It has minor scratches but overall I would give it a 8.5/10. I also have a C3 5501 (lefty) with the clicker on the side plate that has been tuned with new bearings and drags.
  8. Thanks for the update. Although fishing may be unpredictable, catching up with old friends down there will make it worth it.
  9. Planning on a trip to this river in about two weeks and was wondering if anyone has any updates on this place? I haven't been down in about a year or so since I don't live near by but have always been itching to catch some stripers on swimbaits. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
  10. Also had an encounter not to long ago but only received a few scratches on the passenger side of the car. Wanted to stay at the lake all night but was to hot to sleep in the car. I think it's time to step up to HID lighting with the proper retrofitting.
  11. Wow, good to hear. Will have to hit it up on my days off. Did you happen to fish the West or East side?
  12. With the project going up there on the east side of the dam, things have been slow, too slow for this time of the year. I usually find that when they release water through those waterfalls, it triggers a better fishing experience but so far no dice. Hopefully topwater will start occurring soon as I have some new lures to try.
  13. Why not just trade with other states for hybrids instead of raising them? I'm pretty sure we have more than enough stocker trouts to make a arrangement to trade for hybrids. Being infertile it may be easier to maintain their numbers but their aggressiveness may be a problem but that's were fisherman come in and take them out. lol. I can imagine it now, chucking trout swimbait for hybrids.
  14. Oops, thanks for clarifying that. This probably explains why its so murky. lol. I'll hit it up on one of my days off and report back on the truman section.
  15. New to Stockton as I have only tried the dam with minimal luck but happen to pass by this arm earlier and there were lots of car parked on the side of the road at the end of the bridge. Has anyone fished this section of the lake? Are the chances of catching anything worth the time? Might have to try it out once I get a day off.
  16. It wouldn't hurt to take a guess so I'll take 7.9lbs for the big one.
  17. Went out today. Got a skunk and it stank but got to test out my new baitcaster and it's a beast. Didn't see anyone else pull anything out either during the time I was there so thing must be slow. Off topic but does anyone know what kind of maintenance they are doing on the dam?
  18. Nice. Seems like things are starting to heat up. Was going to give it a try but may have to wait it out a couple of more weeks.
  19. This won't tell you much but it may be helpful: My link. Like dutch mentioned, if TR is generating, Powersite should be too.
  20. Brown trout color lures may work since browns are cannibals themselves. I've heard of fly chuckers using rat baits for browns at night. When all else fails, powerbait, as I believe the MO record brown did inhale that stuff.
  21. Although we do need as much rain as we can get, it could have waited another week or so since it done shut down dove hunting too.
  22. I don't have a favorite but anything goes when I can find them, especially topwater lures. Nothing get the adrenaline going better than a topwater when it flies a couple feet out of the water.
  23. I'm pretty sure the access area is on the other side of the river where the soccer fields are located at. Take I-44 over the river and it should be the first exit. Make a right, then left (S. Elwood Ave.). Go all the way down until you see the soccer fields. There should be a path leading down to the river. Getting there is easy, fishing is another story.
  24. PowerPro moss green has always been my line of choice. 10 lb=2 lb diameter. I've taken everything from crappie to hybrids to walleye on this line with little or no breakage unless I've hit a snag.
  25. link Might not be a tire farm but Stockton Lake Guide Service was nice enough to add this link from the MDC. It might be worth looking into if you fish stockton regularly.
