  1. had the same thing about 10 years ago when I was in my fifties . . . . thought the pain would never go away . . . . . same as you rps, I could not raise my arm to the point where it would be straight out and perpendicular to my body . . . . and could never raise it above that position . . . . and that was while holding no weight whatsoever . . . . . I found it very difficult to slip on a tee shirt . . . . . . . rested it and rested it and rested it . . . . gave up a lot of things I normally do . . . . . . finally, after about a year and a half, the pain diminished and went away completely . . . . have never had it since . . . . . let me know during your rehab if you want to go out with me and teach me to walleye fish . . . . . . on your advice, I recently purchased my first Bill Norman topwater . . . . . have not had a chance to use it yet . . . . good luck and I think it will simply take a long period of rest
  2. Age and agillity are very important . . . . . the high-platform modern-day bass boats do not allow much room for error in a case where you might lose your balance . . . . . . I've owned many types of fishing boats and at my present age of 65, I have gone back to a Lund medium-sized deep V with a slightly elevated fishing platform up front . . . . I fish most reservoirs withing a 50-mile radius of Springfield . . . . . I would say the open waters of Stockton are the least forgiving of all . . . . . think twice about Stockton if the forecasted winds exceed 15mph . . . . . returning to a Lund at this point in my life has worked out great . . . . . . single console with a 60hp Merc (40mph on plane) . . . . I do not fish tournaments so hole-shots and high speeds are not important . . . . . fish catching has remained constant regardless of style of boat . . . . . . if you choose to go with a fiberglass bass boat, don't get the smallest and cheapest, it will not give you what you need . . . . . . get at lesst an 18 ft with a minimum 90 inch beam . . . . have fun
  3. I do not work for BPS, but I will always support them. My wife and I moved to Springfield 4 years ago. We love it. When friends visit, we take a great deal of pride in taking them to BPS . . . . they always enjoy it and want to go back when they return. When the outdoor museum reopens, there will be no sporting goods facility anywhere in the USA that will rival it in any way. We find the prices reasonable and the staff truly exceptional and knowledgeable. With the surrounding rivers, lakes and streams, it is a dream come true for us to live here and BPS adds to the overall enjoyment. Previously, we lived in the big city environment . . . . yuuuuuccK!!!
  4. I'm fishing at the Rebar hole . . . . a father (not fishing) brings his 2 sons to teach them his proven approach to catching trout . . . . . the boys, I'm guessing, are about 7 and 9 years of age . . . . . . the boys walk out to the middle of Rebar and stand side-by-side no more than 4 feet apart from each other . . . . . the older boy engages in the most "extreme shuffling" I have ever observed with no attempt to make it inconspicuous . . . . . they do not make any cast, but simply hold their lines in the water 6 feet down from the point of the shuffling . . . . . . they catch one trout after another while the father stands at the edge of the shore "bursting with pride" . . . . that was in the April of 2010 . . . . since then, I have never fished Rebar or above and my overall Taneycomo fishing experience has vastly improved
  5. these guys are typical "trout park" idiots . . . . . since they're use to fishing literally "elbow-to-elbow", they probably considered the available space to be plenty not only for themselves to walk in, but for anyone else that might share the same notion . . . . . . they're just gettin "tuned up" for that opening day of fishing in a barrel side-by-side with all those sharing that same quest of lunacy which is better known as "trout park fishing" . . . . . if you're lucky, next weekend you may be sharing Taneycomo with even more of these model sportsman as they continue to perfect their skills of obnoxious behavior prior to their most important day of reckoning when it becomes "every man, woman and child for themselves"
