  2. Alright!!! Another awesome fish pop! Did you get measurements by chance?
  3. Very nice!!! I'm tempted to buy a head lamp. I will be down there with pop in a couple weeks.
  4. AWESOME FISH DAD!!! I expected the browns in hand but a 10 pound rainbow! HOLY #$@! I bet it was fun playing a fish in and out of your backing, all while contolling the boat! I bet that was gut wrenching.
  5. HAHAHAHA!!! YOU GOT IT!!!!
  6. Nice lookin fish Leanord! Glad the brown put up a fight for ya.
  7. THANK YOU
  8. Good idea for bulk that is cheaper. One difference between the two will be suppleness. Good quality tippet presents the flies more naturally. Not that big of a difference though.
  9. Speaking of Table Rock State Park, does anyone know a website for that campground that I could view information on? If not does anyone know what the rates are and how to reserve a site(phone number, online, etc.)?
  10. Thats a fun little route.
  11. That would be awesome!! I gotta be on that trip.
  12. thanks for the report. That sounds a little better than what we have been reading.
  13. I have the same set up. Simms and the Chota STL boots are very nice.
  14. I knew it was around 5 or so dollars. Glad you had a good time. There can be spectacular fishing for all species in my opinion. I have had downright unbeleivable bluegill fishing there at times. Sorry if I came off wrong, I just wanted to state some facts so everyone would be clear. I am a Sunnen Products employee and have seen people tresspassing on the private land and using motors 20+ mph. I take my family down there quite often year round as well as others ( being YMCA guests, Sunnen employees, or boyscouts at the other end), and the last thing I want is for one of my kids or someone else to be hit in a canoe, jon boat, or kayak, as well as having tresspassers crashing our vacation. Again, glad you had a good time, that the way it should be. I'm was just looking out for the general interest. The whole lake/land is directed and geared towards kids and family, it's a very nice place to take them.
  15. The YMCA ramp is for the public's use but you have to pay at the YMCA office to legally use it. You could get fined for not paying a pass. It not that expensive, maybe 5 bucks per time at most, but it's better than getting fined $300 or whatever. The YMCA owns it. The other ramp is on private property for Sunnen Products Co. employees's use only. Past the gate that says "Sunnen Employee Recreation Area", that shoreline, boat ramp, and land is all private. The whole lake is no-wake now as well.
  16. If your in Branson I recommend Anglers and Archery.
  17. Simms makes good waders for Taneycomo. I have the freestone's in a medium and love them. They are thicker than others so they insulate better in that cold tailwater and they are more "fitted" so current flows around them better than with baggier style waders that catch alot of current. Great waders.
  18. You want your fingers wrapped around the grip with the thumb straight on the back of the grip. The thumb helps power and control. Your grip should be a "thumbs up". Here is a youtube clip of a lefty kreh movie I used when I was learning. Lefty really knows how to explain the principles of it all. Make sure you note the thumb position that he uses. Not only does it help with tailing loops but it will improve your accuracy as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ-AXvVbKkE
  19. turning your thumb down a little more at the end of your forward cast will help turn it over.
  20. definitely some impressive fish!!!
  21. Thanks for the input guys. We will probably go on the bluffs float. More than likely. Like I said we will be going mostly for the floating fun but I will be doing some fishing. I have had good luck fishing that float at least with smaller fish. Still fun though.
  22. Thanks for the input. Yeah I know it will be jammin. We are going mostly for the fun this round anyway but I will still bring a rod. Dad and I have floated the rivers many times in the past but it's been awhile since I floated and just wanted some feedback where some good fishing might be in the area.
  23. My wife and I and some friends are heading down to Ozark Outdoors to camp and float this weekend. I have floated the "bluffs" float I know for sure... Does anyone have any suggestions for specific floats for fishing. We won't be doing any real serious fishing but I'd like to put my group on some fish, not for keeps or nothin. Thanks for any help. Matt
