  1. I was out this week at a couple of locations - wading in. The water temp is still not optimal. One location was Richland Creek - the water has not been high enough for the white bass to even make their way into those spots folks are used to fishing. The water is still too cold for them to make their run. The other location - a secret for now - was almost frigid. I used to live in Goshen and am not an expert but there are several locations on the White and Richland that I am familiar with wading. At this time, with rains and the "off temps" with snow last week - I think the run will begin in April. One year, I was landing whites on Richland Creek in May. The white bass are still staging. If anyone wants to wade in or hit the Twin Briges with canoe or whatever, give me a holler! I have been very successful with a few custom fly fishing patterns - especially bead headed white woollie buggers. Simple white rooster tails have also done the trick. Some years, I have to make several trips out to become successful. I used to stop on the White on the way home and hit the creek early in the morning. Man, am I getting the itch. Good news is that I caught about 13 bass between 6 to 12 inches on one creek - had to fish slow - yellow chartruese rooster tail.
