Same here. In the summer, spots and largemouth dominate. We do most of our fishing between mill rock and peter's ford. Once the water cools off and they congregate it's a whole different story.

What Do You All Think For This Weekend?

Just checked the gage height in Union and it's 3.66. I usually don't go out unless its 2.5 or less so it's about 1 ft, high over what I consider a pretty good moving current. I'd say that it's probably still dirty too but I haven't seen it lately to confirm, I just no that the meremac near my house is still pretty ugly. Good luck and be safe if you decide to head out, -
All I can say is that it's between Wenkel Ford and Melody Lake. I talked to my uncle who fished last weekend and he said that fishing was tough. I think the fish are moving now into the spawning areas. In a few more weeks bass and goggle eye fishing should get good.

I'm coming down tomorrow for 3 days. With these fronts passing through today and looks like again on thursday, how will the fishing respond? Have the fish shut down on cold fronts or do they just back off into slightly deeper water?

They are in there but tough to catch other times of the year. They are very vulnerable during the winter and early spring as well as october/november as they start to beef up for winter.

We fished the bourbouse river all winter and did well just about everytime. The bass hole up in the deep slow moving holes and we have one that we murder the big ones in all winter. All catch and release. We caught 6-8 18"+ smallies, many nice largemouth and some good kentuckies too. Here are some pics.

I have been fishing there for 15 years. My dad has been fishing there for about 40. We are good friends with the Graven's and stay in touch but since Dale had been sick, we didn't get down as much. If I hear anything, I will certainly pass it on.

Nice fish! Me and a few buddies will be in Shell Knob from Wed. through Friday or Saturday. We are staying at Pla-Port resort. Looks like the bite is picking up and in 4 more days it will be even better.
