    If they are not running any water, the fish are spooky and I mean spooky! For us kayakers and wade fisherman, we need to catch the water falling or them only running 1 or 2 units. (For us kayakers) I saw lots and lots of fish last weekend, but they had lock jaw and I suggest from the bright sun and the low water. Oh and there is more shad in the river then I have ever seen before.

    Fishing out of a kayak is a lot of fun! I have a Native Ultimate and have fly fished out of it for a couple of years now. It opens up a lot of water!

    Yes, I know that is why I posted this thread. The flow was down and up / down and up all the time. I was just curious as to why.

    Okay the water should be coming down but it seems to go up and down all the time and not just down. Where is all this water coming from?     Are you guys in a canoe or boat? Sounds like a pretty good weekend to me! One more question, what is the average depth through there? Or what depth were you guys fishing at?

    High water all weekend! I am dying to see if the stripers are in the river and with the generation schedule it looks like it could be a couple of weeks before we see some low water again. GoodFisher: Please let us know how you do.

    Depending on the gen. schedule I am going to try and sneak down on Thursday or Friday. I will keep you updated on what I find.

    I think you may find a couple stripers, but the main run I think is still a month off. With the below average weather, I just dont think they are moving up into the LIR, yet. I know that lots of shad can be found in the AR right now with lots of stripers as well and that probably has to do with the warming water from the last week and a half weather. I might be down there on Sunday as well checking out the stripers as well, but I will be in my kayak south of Gore landing closer to the AR.
