  1. Hello Everyone - Just thought I'd take a few minutes to share my fishing experience from May 25th. Floated from Bay Creek to Eminence. Beautiful float. Caught many smallmouths and rock bass. Best fishing - From Bay Creek to Alley Spring. After Alley Spring, the water was just too cold to hold the numbers of smallmouth I was looking for. They may have been there, but I didn't see them. At Eminence, I started catching smallmouth and rock bass again. Water Level - Floatable but getting low enought that we dragged several times. Unless the rains continue, don't think it will continue to be floatable for too many more weeks. The water was running quite well. We floated 14 miles in a canoe and stopped to fish several times in about 9 hours. Where Fish Were Holding - Some late spawners were on the beds still, but mainly were catching fish off of structure (rocks, trees, etc) What I Used - I like to fly fish, but was unsuccessful early, so I went to my spinning rod. Did well on beatle spins and crayfish jig patterns that I tied up for my fly rod. (hey, whatever works, right?) The guy I was fishing with was using some small blades and spoons with some success where creeks or divided currents converged. I found the most success close to the bottom with my beatle spin. Other Notes: I really liked this float and plan to float it again next year. If you choose to float this in the next couple of weeks, do yourself a favor and stop several time to fish before you hit Alley Spring and then just enjoy a nice float from there to Eminence. - Putter
