  1. The Wind and sun made for hard fishing but we did find a pattern. most fish sat around 50ft off the bank in 5-10 ft of water when they were feeding, close to weeds. If you can find a spot where the wind is hitting the bank directly you should have a fish sitting in that cover waiting to strike softplastics, spooks and crankbaits. fish fast and make sure to hit every type of cover from every direction . I found also that on occasion casting into the weeds didnt produce as well as just off the weeds.. try casting and landing just outside the cover and bring it past , casting down the bank always in the strike zone yields far better results than casting at the bank across the strike zone.cast upwind when possible to maintain the most realistic presentation, fish face the current and flow of food so try to keep it as real as possible. As always prismatics or chrome on sunny days and darker more natural colors on cloudy days . sorry for the lack of posts been real busy the past couple of weeks , any questions , responses , or additions to this post are more than welcome. ...
  2. boo buzzbait ..learn to twitch 250bpm
  3. all that money and you only do 45?.. my lands you need to at least get 80 or your not bass fishing!...
  4. I know that things are tight right now but a good gps will show everything your asking for and so much more , you should start saving for one it is a very wise investment.
  5. took lots of fish all day on topwater baits and brush hogs. Most fish were taken on the chunkiest rocks you could find .. not bluff . not peagravel . only the good mixed chunk rock produced. depth was not as key as correct structure... zara spook was killing all day inc. this one 5.11lbs here is a few more angles
  6. I never take a weight on them. Just take a pic and put em back. although I would really like to have one of the spines to make a cane out of... then I could dress up like the Predator®.. you know carry a few skulls maybe a huge tooth and some crazy electronics straped to my arm..in this case a depth finder instead of missiles. ..lol the mental image of predator with a fishing rod sitting ina boat is too much. sorry I owe you 30 sec of your life back now.

garmin c series.. I have 3 different models the oldest 4 yrs. they all fit the same mounts.. has step by step directions for road use and is absolutly perfect for lake and hunting applications.. dont go cheapo on it though..300$ will get you a great hand held that can be mounted quickly to boat or truck...mounts are around 40$ for dirtbike all the way to boat ,bicycle, truck ... if you want lake maps on it your looking at another 100$ but its worth it to have every depth plot , fish attracter, stump, submerged road/ foundation , marina, boatramp, gas station , hotel, road , service road and toadstool on your unit...the thing even shows where the radio station towers are and what channel it broadcasts so I can tune in ... you will not be disappointed ..
  9. cant figure out how to move or delete it, sorry I am in the wrong forum .
  10. I am looking for a cheap used fish finder that still works and has all its parts .. if I have to fab a mount or some thing easy no biggie but the unit and transducer are critical... I do not want to spend much since I am saving for a nice one. Just need one to get me by till then.. mine got ruined in the rain last week , had a small crack in the shell that I did not notice til the screen was already flickering.

  12. good to know I could help .
  13. thats how the whites done it when we fished in the rain.. looked like a football field of boils ahead of me.. what fun
  14. check the fellows reports I still have my bad days .. in fact I went down to the rock a month ago and took not one quality fish.. I would love to be in some tourneys but I just dont have the money for a good boat or entry fees maybe after college I will be in a better position .
  15. The Ludington Daily News says Tom Healy of Rockford caught the 41-pound, 7 1/4-ounce trout Wednesday from a boat in the Manistee River. Department of Natural Resources biologists have weighed the fish and confirm its type. The previous state record for brown trout was a 36-pound, 13-ounce specimen caught in Frankfort in 2007. The Daily News says the catch might have broken a world record. Presently, that distinction belongs to a 40-pound, 4-ounce brown trout caught in 1992 on the Little Red River in Arkansas. Healy would need certification from the International Game Fish Association or the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as the new record holder.
  16. ... touching a sore subject.. the rain caused me to leave all my valuables in the truck .. inc phone, camera, wallet..so no pic no proof except the friend who was with me who now swears he didnt see me catch a thing all day just to get a rise out of me. I might have kept it long enough to get back to the truck if I had a live well in my boat but on a lighter note that beauty is still in there waiting for my spook thats one spot i just cant give away. her names bouncing betsy... slapped that spook 2 ft out of the water before grabing at it again.cant wait to go back
  17. btw not a K one all day whats up with that?
  18. Started at cape fair around 5:30 am. drove 5 miles south to the island / stump field and found whites and large mouth schooled and boiling together in the rain. absolutely the best day of fishing i have ever spent on the rock, they were taking a spook at light speed or a spoon ripped then fluttered.. try a lure you can cast extremely far they tend to move alot. As soon as the gar show up the fun is over take up and look for new boils. light gravel banks and long flats held LM all day , spook, spoon, and swim baits all took quality fish . They seem to move in and out of the flats so if nothing hits at 1-5ft on your topwater move out and toss a spoon and let it drop to around 15 ft , small rips and flutters , swim baits around the edges of these flats that held fish done very well . Drag it over the last of the level bottom to the edge of the drop off or ditch and just jig slowly bouncing bottom seldomly until your fish is on. counting whites and all,my friend and I took over 100 fish yesterday the only thing we had to really brag on besides sheer amount of fish was one LM that at best guess between us was close to 10 lbs taken just off the corner of a personal dock with a spook. LOOK for them white bass boils and you will find the LM , they are just as big of gluttons as the whites all in all around 65 whites and close to 50 LM , around 30% were keepers.
  19. your talking about lakeside not on the river right?
  20. I might add that these fish were all took middle of the summer at their lowest weights and all released to fight again .
  21. you have to take into consideration 820 acre lake and 29,000acre lake are obviously going to have some differences but my point is there are quality fish in there. most the results I see for these tourneys the big bass this year havent broke the 5-7 lbs range but im sure its not uncommon to see much larger fish from a more dedicated crowd.
  22. Hmm trophy bass from fellows..what is trophy to you? most bass tournys around here pay out for the biggest bass . if you do a little research on this 5lbs would win almost every time .. worth a trophy? these are all in the 5 lbs range and caught this year from fellows. I personally think 10 lbs is a trophy but most people have never even seen a 5lbs bass its a matter of opinion ...not one under 20" for billY's trophy case in those pics.. try not to be such a sour pus if you get skunked bass fishing is hard stuff any where you go. to catch bass is easy , to catch big bass is not... try harder , LOOK at the fishing reports , study before you go , have a game plan , fish to the situation, get bigger lures the list can go on on but you would have to pay me for much more than holding hands.
  23. I smear butter on the camera so you can not ID me ..... man my phone takes crappy pics
  24. just a bit longer
