  1. Hello all, I have been fishing since I was a little kid off and on. Just going when ever people say they are biting and bringing what they say they are biting. I do so so even when people are yanking them in left and right. No matter if its crappie fish or bass or pan fish or catfish or what ever fish. I was in a local fishing tackle store and notice several different types of fishing books and it got me wondering. Are they any good? What fishing books have YOU read? and were they helpfull? Is there a series that is Really good at teaching every thing there is about a particular fish? I picked up one called "The freshwater angler" on walleyes (A fish I always had trouble targeting) and it had loads of data, but looked like a lot of work to figure out. Is it a good series? or are there better ones around? I really need some thing to teach me fishing. Thanks all, DLM
  2. I have, Many people fish it regularly and catch crappie, bass and Cat fish in both lakes. In the north lake I fish for crappie by they east side (where all the stumps are sticking out of the water) and on the other side is good cat fish territory. Early this month (05 0f 2009) there was a flood down there. Both roads were flooded out & the only thing biting were the fly's & some catfish from the River. I was there around 5-20-09. The flood had given back most of the road on the north lake up to that river road but you still could not make it all the way around yet. Loads of Amish people up there, apparently they were camping out at the schell-osage camp grounds. Weird people those were, every time we would stop to talk with the fishermen they would huddle together and whisper amongst them selves. I wonder what that is about? I noticed they and there hoarses were skin and bones too. must have been a bad year for them or some thing. Any way the fish all seemed to be done biting for now, It will probably pick up once the silt is down on the bottom. Right now its all stirred up and you can't see 2 inches into the water.
  3. Hello all, I am a Missouri fisher men living about 2 hours west of springfield. I frequent Conservation ponds and Stockton lake for fishing stomping grounds. I found this site in a google search for fishing forums, I was actually looking for up to date water levels (I allways seem to be a day late where ever they been biting) but I decided to stick around here.
