  1. I have had the WR Two Seventy in 6wt and currently have a WR CV2 in 8wt. The WR Two Seventy was one of the better rods I've cast in the sub $200 range. The CV2 is a decent rod, I got it on E-bay for $110 with reel and extra spool (float & sink lines) and cases for all. I don't use an 8wt that often so I'm happy with the CV2 for now. I'm more into ultralight fly rods now.
  2. I've put in behind the baseball field and floated down to the Arkansas...nothing. If you catch it when after a good rain in the spring you can catch sandbass right off Elwood under the turnpike bridge. There are some good catfishin opertunities if your into that.
  3. Had good luck below Zink at the end of June. Caught some nice stripers. So far this month it's been real slow. I also caught a big buffalo on my 8wt. It was pretty tame fight until I slid him up on the sand/gravel. When I got close to him he came alive and made a big run. First time I've doubled over the new 8wt...good times.
  4. I got the Two Seventy combo for $229 in 6wt. (It was on sale at the first of the year) The rod was great. The reel looked great but as soon as it got a little wet it would start locking up. I took it back after reading many reviews with people quoting the same issues. They gave me another reel and it did the same thing. Took it back and got credit. Maybe that's why they are on clearance? I did manage to catch some nice striper on it before I took it back.
  5. Congrats Zach. I ran into you today at the D & B outfitters & you mentioned this form. Thought I'd check it out. Looks like a lot of great info. Thanks for the tip. Have fun practicing in PA this week.
