i was woundering if any inyone could tell me what types of baits and how i should use them to catch white bass
  5. I was wondering what the regulations for bow fishing are in missouri
  6. I was wonderin if any one knew how to make some homemade catfish bait. also did anyone hear about the new state and possible world record bullhead.
  7. thanks for the correction tim. if you fsh from the first bridge above the dam to the second bridge above the dam theres a pretty good chance youll catch a lunker. and fish after dark thats when the lunkers really start to move. and tim you were right fishing with a spincast reel is more efective and use minnows as bait becuase the trout love um
  8. all of the big trout that i have caught were on the first bit private land up from the mill where they are rarely fished for. so they pretty much grow up in isolation. and i wouldnt be surprised if a lot of them were washed down from the hillcreek lodge where they were fed. but to catch one just get permission to fish the land and fish the shallow to deep pools about 30 minutes before dark but keep fishing well into the night. i'd say you cuold fish anywhere from the dam to the hillcreek lodge and catch lunkers if you just fish the right spots.
  9. I think that the tanycomo hatchery may have produced more browns than normal. I have been catching a lot more browns at capps creek and RR. But as for Rainbows they seem a little bit bigger than normal
  10. one reason the fish are getting so smalll may be because the hatcheries didnt raise as many trout fry as normal since they are putting air pumps into the the hatcheries and trout runs to keep trout from dying of lack of oxygen A hatchery employee told me that they lost 60 lunkers because some leaves plugged the water system and cut off a fresh supply of ogygenated water.
  11. like how small do you mean.
  12. OH I almost forgot RR waters levels should be up since we got rain almost every day during the past week.
  13. I was fishing today at RR and the fish were really bitin hard. I mostly used a white salmon egg. And i also hooked a 5 pounder at least but he broke off. Use 2 pound line at the least because the water is super clear
  14. I have heard that the MDC is going to quite stocking Roaring River because the spring is so low. If anyone knows if this is true please let me know.
  15. Roaring river, crane, and capps mostly since there the closest. but I do fish quite a few privatly owned trout streams. I cant really give names since I cant remember them, but there is a good one about 5 to 10 miles west of purdy. It doesnt got a good trout population(But its a an awsome creek to fish just dont go there expecting to see a classic trout stream)but if you do catch a trout theres a good chance it will top 5#. Its also got a lot of large and smallmouth bass. If you can find one the owner of the a place he/she should let you fish there as long as you dont litter and stuff. But make sure you get permission because most of the owners get really mad when you trespass. Most of these streams arent stocked with trout year round, there lucky to be stocked once every two years. So be careful when fishing not to spook the fish since they are skittish.

  17. sorry to get off the topic a little bit, but noodling needs to have limits like only keeping a 2 fish that over 50. becuase I will agree with people that noodling can destroy catfishing in streams and rivers, but it should'nt do to much damage if only a few people harvest a few large fish from a stream. Now I would like to try noodling someday in the near future but i cant unless i find a good catfish stream.
  18. Sup im new to this sight. I am 15 i am a very good trout fishermam on capps creek that is i have a bait that catches fish no matter what the biggest fish i caught down there was 11# but it was on private land If you need to no how to catch trout on streams around Monett just ask me and trust me. I fish around monett for trout all the time and I never come back empty handed.
  19. Chris If I was you I would keep an eye out for arrow heads and other indian artifacts. I have some friends that were able to make a coffie table out of arrow heads they found. There was roughly 150 in the table plus a few indian artifacts which they found on their land of 20 acres. But keep a carefull eye out for them because a lot of them are very small (smaller than a penny) sincerly Mark
  20. i was woundern if anyone new how big the bigest trout ever pulled from capps was. I have caught Plenty of trout there in the 10# range, most of them on private land above the dam
