  1. Personally, I don't catch that many fish around the park. I catch a few, but generally have better luck upstream. I've caught Bluegill, crappie, largemouth, smallmouth, goggle eye. I've heard even farther upstream, is some better fishing, but I haven't been up that far yet. I'd say earlier in the morning would be the better time to fish it, before all the boat traffic picks up too much. But don't expect to catch a ton of fish.
  2. It's been kinda strange for me this year. I caught several fish at the beginning of March, but each time since, the bite has dropped off. In fact, last time I went, I didn't even get a bite. I don't know if its fishing pressure, or just boat traffic, or what.
  3. My son and I went fishing at the park a couple of times early March, 10-11. We took our small wooden boats, perhaps it was us you saw? Blue and orange boats.

    Ford Flex

I am a Ford Technician. I get to drive Flex's quite a bit. My mother in law owns one and really likes it. I own a Ford Windstar and I can compare the two. The Flex is a bit less noisy than the Windstar. Not real sure on the fuel economy but I believe its in the mid to upper 20-s. My windstar by comparison gets 24 or so on the highway. The Flex gets the nod when it comes to power though. It has a 3.5Lv6 and the windstar has a 3.8Lv6. No comparison on power.... The ride of the Flex is nice and smooth, but not quite as smooth as the Windstar in my opinion. You have to be careful in the Flex as you can go much faster than you think you are while driving down the interstate. I'm sure our next vehicle will be a Flex. Oh, and we haven't seen many of the Flex's for major issues at our shop yet. Good luck!

    Where To Start?

I understand, it just looked like a great smallie river when I crossed it. I was curious if there was a section that the floaters didn't use much. Thanks!
  6. I have never been to the Elk river, but happened to drive across it last year and made a mental note about wanting to go fish it. My two sons have been bugging me about going over there and fishing/camping. We will have small kayaks, and would like to find a place to fish/camp. Can anyone give me any info on a good place to take kids fishing, without a "ton" of floaters coming by? I realize its cold and snowy now, but I'm trying to plan ahead for the spring. Thanks!
