  1. I think you are right about the shuttle to Mt. Hersey, it is a long bumpy gravel road, I was hoping for a local or a High School kid that lived close that wanted to make a little summer money. Guess I will just float down and drag back up.
  2. Who shuttles from Carver to Mt. Hersey? I would really like to find some one that lives in the area and could meet me at Mt Hersey and ride with me to Carver and then drop my truck off back at the Mt. Hersey take out, mostly during the week. Thanks for any help.
  3. A White super fluke in the fast water areas works good and doesn't hang up like a bottom bouncing bait. With the rain it should be a good weekend.
  4. I have caught carp a couple times on a tube but not this big and on a topwater. I saw him in the shallows about 20 yards away and never thought that he would bite but on the second cast he hit. It was a good battle not like a bass, no jumping but a lot of line pulled off my reel. He was really black and had a pretty orange belly, I dont remember seeing any this black before, but I set him free for someone else to catch.
  5. The USGA men were working on it last week so I think it is fixed, they said they were replacing the temporary one but the readings stayed the same. It is low, 9.6, you can count on some draging but very little company.
  6. Here is the picture
  7. This nice lady caught this 19 incher in the first big hole around the corner from the Slab last Wednesday. She caught it on a little closed face reel with a bobber, bream hook and a grasshopper, and her husband was swimming in the water beside her! You just never know.
  8. The problem is if you are launching a boat to go down stream, to get to the water it is a staight drop off on the down stream side into large rocks, the up stream side has a concrete slope into the water. When the slab was there you could drive down to one end and unload your boat and then drive across the slab to the parking lot that was close and park, now you have to drive down unload and back all the way back up the hill. I hope they have more plans. It seems like they would be doing it now that the water has been so low but I guess it could come up over night this time of year. It took 2 backhoes several weeks to cut out that middle section of the slab.
  9. Kellys Slab was a low water bridge public put in to Crooked Creek that is just west of Yellville about a 1/2 mile. I was wondering if they were through? I thought that they would have sealed the broken ends with concrete and I was hoping that they would make some place to turn around in when you get down there to launch a boat?
  10. I checked the water level at Harriet and its at 4.1 today, what would be the lowest level to do this float? Thanks
  11. Thanks, I looked it up, I have seen a lot of it this year.
  12. I just finished a fishing trip on Crooked Creek and we caught alot of fish with red sores on their bodies and on their lips. I have seen this on fish before but not to this level,I would say a 1/4 of them had this problem. Does anyone know what this is or what causes this?
  13. I looked at home, his name is Jimmy Walker and I had a diffrent number, its 870-404-6054
  14. Haglaw You can camp at Snow there is a couple of tent pads just past the parking lot, primative camping no facilities and I think that it is a one night camping only. The Carlton Marion Inn in Yellville is great, cheap, clean and the owners (Ken and Glenda) are really nice and Ken has shuttled me before. I Think that fellow that lives on the road to Snow is Crooked Creek Canoe Service - (870) 449-6203, Finley
