  1. Hey, I am looking for someone semi-locally that can rewrap A guide for me, and add some varnish to my threads on an older glass rod. I only need this one guide taken off and relocated back where it needs to be, but the threads are getting a little dry. Anyone capable of doing this, let me know and let me know what the charge would be. Please let me know as quick as possible. Also, if you would be willing to teach me how to rewrap the guide and what not, that would be greatly appreciated. I can bring the rod down there this week to you, so let me know.
  2. Shoal Creek in SEKS is about the farthest west you can get into a Neosho smallmouth, but no farther. There were smallmouth in the mainstem Neosho River as of 1866, but they had already been stocked in the system in John Redmond. You can catch Neoshos south into Arkansas in tributaries of the Arkansas River, above Grand Lake.
  3. I bought some Korkers so I can be set for anywhere I go. The boots came with a rubber sole and a studded rubber sole.
  4. Wow. That sounds pretty good. I wonder how the local LEOs would handle it.
  5. Umm, tough call, but court would be kind of funny, just show up with the entire case of Elder v Delcour in your hands, hand it to the judge and walk home
  6. I know that. They are about 40 minutes apart or so. I could also hit Crane, then on the way home hit Capps...They aren't that far apart and I can run down 60 to 71 and head home.
  7. Yep. I could probably hit Roaring River in about 4 hours from home, per Mapquest, however, speed limits are for schmucks. The problem with the shadow bass water is that it is a warmwater fishery. I would figure a 3wt fly rod would be ideal on that water, however, this time of year, I don't know if it is a feasible option. Perhaps I should try RR rather than Crane in a week and a half or so...
  8. I love catching our wild trout, but the stocker holdovers are just as fun or as hard to get to. Where would you recommend Laker?
  9. Those decisions will be made more than the MDC is banking on, I am sure of it. The expense of new boots is going to set me back a C-Note and that is money I could put elsewhere, however, I enjoy our wild trout.
  10. I am no longer a resident either, haven't been for over three years, however, I pay for my tackle in Missouri, still purchase my fishing license there and spend my vacation dollars there when I go to fish. FnF, we should have a say in this as well since we spend our money there too. They should make the laws less ambiguous and educate the dumb___ LEOs about it to keep them off of the law-abiding sportsmen's backs when we are enjoying public waters.
  11. I think something should be done about this as well.
  12. It shouldn't sound right to you. That is not true. You can float or wade fish these creeks legally. The issue isn't the law, rather it is the lack of knowledge of the law by those either complaining or prosecuting.
  13. I could see TU getting into it on waters which hold trout, but on streams like Shoal Creek, which is not a trout stream (yet they are caught every year), I would not anticipate a big TU push for understanding. Does anyone on here have any input with a Missouri chapter of TU regarding this? Maybe the MSA could do something like this as well.
  14. You'll get no argument from me on this, but I stand by my previous statement.
  15. Even some of your DAs don't know about the ruling, I am sure.
  16. **** the landowners. If we, as law-abiding sportsmen, are within the law, it should be illegal for them to harass us.
  17. I hadn't looked at it like that Wrench, but now that you mention it, you are right. We hear from him when he has a podcast to promote. We cuss, discuss, get mad at and make up with each other on this forum on an almost weekly basis. I wouldn't mind his input on the matter in a means other than promoting his podcast (which wasn't bad by the way). Perhaps he could get involved in a discussion on the matter. We have had them since Thanksgiving or so.
  18. I'd assume that anything that is hydrophobic would work pretty well. I, like Brian, have used Glide for years. It lasts pretty well, however, I am going to see if I can scare up some Zipcast and try it.
  19. Al, thank you. I wish it was spelled out someplace where we are legal and where we are not.
  20. Exactly, why bother those who also enjoy the waters? I guess didymo only clings onto anglers. Hunters and casual water users are immune from having the snot attach to them.
  21. Justin, boredom doesn't affect anyone on here in the winter, does it? We don't have arguments on this forum every winter that stem from that one cause, do we?
  22. I agree with you again Jason. Thank you for saying this far more diplomatically than I am capable of right now.
  23. I know for a fact that BASS does not allow fly rods in their tournaments. Their rules specify spin or casting tackle, no longer than 8'.
  24. The Mizzou game is definitely more important.
  25. Great question.
