  1. Have fun Tim. Take lots of pictures and post updates as you can! Enjoy and be safe.
  2. I say go tonight! The night is young, and there are many trout to be had.
  3. I tried convincing my fiancee to get married in a river, but she wants something small, nothing major...then we might go float/fishing for the honeymoon. I love her!
  4. I might go to Jacomo after a hard rain! Throw some Clousers and hold on right?
  5. It depends how she feels. I might push the two week mark and go, but I will just need to see. Hope it is before C&R is over.
  6. Ok, so during the regular season is a badtime to chase trout at maramec. Well, I would still like the chance to come down, but being as the baby can be born any day, I cannot until a month afterward. I will let everyone know. Thanks guys.
  7. beautiful fish jared!
  8. That lake is a cesspool. I for one, will not fish it. I cannot believe that the water patrol, or local police let the things go on that go on...but I am not the one to do anything about it. I will just pass it by.
  9. Wow, very helpful! Thanks Butts. I will make sure to post if I need anything else, as well as to let everyone know.
  10. I have a choice to make. My fiancee wants to go fishing one more time before the baby comes (also to take pictures of eagles) and to read out in the wilderness. I might come down pretty soon. Depends on her.
  11. Sounds good, might be here pretty soon. She wants to go before the baby comes to take pictures of eagles and fish a little. Odd for a pregnant lady, but you know...I will keep everyone posted.
  12. I am going to try to get down there in about 2 weeks if I can talk her into it. She loves to take pictures. Thanks.
  13. Well, how would I use the 1# mono? I am confused about that, but beyond that, I do not yet tie my own, as I am not patient enough, but I love the idea of making my flies a little more durable. I went through four on fifteen strikes. A little nutso if you ask me
  14. Wow, I would love to spend some time in the trophy area with someone who knows where, what, and how...NOT ME! haha...Yeah, I look at fly fishing faster water like someone with no legs looks at running a marathon. I have no idea how to do it. I am guessing the trophy area is the area just below the cable...I do not really know. Like I said, that was my first trip there, and I am considering making the trip again in a few weeks with my fiancee who spin fishes. I would appreciate any help you can give. THanks Jared.
  15. I apparently need to take some lessons in presenting the fly to the fish because I only saw one big fish all day Friday, and he hit my Griffiths Gnat and then just as I was stripsetting he spit it. I was furious. Does the park have any bigger fish in the spring or summer? I might come back down around March or so (after baby is born) to do some fishing, and would love to know. Thanks guys.
  16. I was not expecting all of the speed changes on 63 south of Jeff City, wow. Yeah, the fish were not as cooperative as they could have been, but a great day nonetheless.
  17. For those who are aware, in the spring in the spillway below Lake Jacomo's dam, into Blue Springs Lake there are some 5+# Hybrids waiting for me with the fly rod. Also, in a few lakes at James A Reed Wildlife Area there are good size hybrids. How do I go about catching them? I need to know what flies, presentation tips, and I will post pics this spring. Let me know please guys! I caught a half dozen 1# hybrids about five years ago and am itching to catch more, just on the flyrod!

  19. Does anyone else have the problem with Griffiths Gnats falling apart after like three or four fish? Mine, the hackle all ends up down by the hook bend. And how do I fix it.
  20. Sounds good to me! The fishing was ok. Caught 7 (first time nymphing with indicator), missed or lost at least 30. Oh they fit perfect man! Thanks. Long drive back home on no sleep was not too fun though.
  21. Awesome, I can now catch some trout down there bigger than 10" when I come.
  22. awesome brown! They really are a rare catch in the parks?
  23. Well, get the picture thing worked out or send it to me and I can figure it out and post it for ya! Wish I had your job....
  24. Barring bad weather, I am making the drive from KC to fish maramec! Let's get a little thing together and get some fishing done! I will be there LONG before the whistle as I have a stop to make in Jeff City about 6ish. Let me know who can be down and fishing.
  25. #4 Goldens? Wow! Have not heard much about anyone catching a whole lot on stoneflies here recently. Is that a winter pattern or are the stones year round?
