Where Can I Find A Good Population Of Smallmouth On The Current River?

I am fishing the current this weekend out of Pocahontas, it runs into the Black River 2 miles Northeast of Pocahontas. Don't catch many smallmouth, but it is loaded with spotted bass and walleye. -
Does anyone fish the lower river? I am going to Pocahontas to duck hunt next week on the Black River, then Try the Current River for bass, any tips. Thanks Will the water be down by then?
