I try to imitate minnows in the creek. the duskystripe shiner is the one I see the most. brown on top, white on the bottom with black crystal flash and gold or bronze flashabou in the middle. seems to work pretty good. I use the craft fur instead of deer hair. chartreuse works too.

I recently did some float fishing and some wading on the creek, thougth Id share a report. floating was great, the water is at a perfect level now no dragging yet. we did some spin fishing using super flukes and grubs. not many keepers but lots of action. went wading a couple days later without the canoe further upstream and did a lot better. caught about everything that swims in the creek. carp, largemouth, brownies, rock bass and sunfish galore. even had an eagle keep me company, cant remember seeing one this time of year. must be a resident by now. near nuff crawdads brougt in the bigger fish. clouser minnows caught everything else.
  4. I use jimmy walker for shuttles 870 404 6054 from my experience around 12 ft. is pretty good. no dragging. dragging can start at 11 ft depending on the stretch of creek
  5. the creek will likely be low and there is dragging. however the fly fishing is excellent this time of year and the fish will be concentrated. a good rain will bring it up though.
  6. I fished the creek twice this week. floated from pyatt to snow, and the water was barely floatable, and 2 trees across the water. need to bring saw next time! that water level website is good info on floating levels, much lower than 11 feet and you be dragging. the water is deeper the further downstream from harmon of course. as for fishing, used the spinning rig on the float and did ok on grubs and flukes, no keepers. had a largemouth swimm right up to the canoe to check me out. that fish was every bit of 24 " the water is a little high for fly fishing, but I didnt bring it anyway.. fished again around harmon and this time waded with fly rod. caught about 12 bass, goggle eye and a carp. 2 nice keeper bass. clouser minnows and near nuff crawdads did the trick.
