Just a heads up Newbie, the stream is closed during catch and release from the handicapp access down to the start of the blue ribbon section. It is only open from the handicapp access upstream. You can always check at the lodge for the rules and regulations, there is a poster in the areas prior to going into the lodge. Wanted to let you know so you don't get into trouble on a future trip.
Thanks, I have tried to call and email but no response. I did get a message from a member who might be able to help out. Can't wait to get down there and fish!!
Does anyone have the name and possibly phone number of anyone near the upper Current River that could haul a canoe and 2 of us from Cedar to Baptist? I have called and left messages at all the canoe rental places and have gotten no response. We are going down this weekend and wanted to float either Sunday or Monday.
I am heading down next weekend to the Current River to fly fish and was hoping for advice on where its most likely to find fish this time of year, and what are the best flies to use. It has been along time since I have been down there. We may also do 1- day float and was wondering if Baptist to Cedar Grove, or Cedar Grove to Akers would be the best float for fishing? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Hi,
I am new to this forum and website and also to flyfishing. I plan to make it down to fish the Current river this weekend and could use some advice. What part of the river, baptist, tan vat, etc. would you recommend for locating decent browns and what type of flys would give me the best shot at catching them? Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mike Mertens
