  1. Had a great day fishing at Quarry Park yesterday. Seems theres still lake fish below the dam. Caught 2 walleye, and 1 hybrid. Also caught one hefty Brown and a beautiful Cutt Throat. Fished from 11:30am til about 2 pm, not a long time... Great weather and a beautiful river make the Ozarks incredible!!!
  2. Wow! The last few weeks down at the Norfork Dam have been paradise! Beautiful Brookies and Browns nearly everycast! Needless to say, I've been tryin to get out there as much as possible. Funny encounter with a pair of otters 2 nights ago. Everytime I retrieved my bait, here they'd come chasing after it! I think they scare the fish away, became a nuisance after awhile. Still waiting to catch that big 20lb....
  3. Ok, so I understand that for several years, we've had above average rain fall, but, can we expect generation on the White and Norfork Tailwaters to decrease anytime soon?
  4. That's a sweet boat, man! What an incredible gift!!!
  5. The story behind that Monster Trout was a year in the making! Having only lived in Arkansas for 1 year at the time I caught that trout, I still can't believe I was one of the luck guys to catch a brown that big. She weighed in at 11.56 lbs, was 28 inches long. I caught her with a frozen sculpin on a spin-reel at the mouth of the Norfork (where the White and Norfork come together). I'd been fishing there for about 2 hours that day, wading into the river in sandals and shorts because it was soooo hot. I was about 15 yards from the bank when she hit the bait and immediately I could tell it was a big fish. I tried to make my way slowly back to shore without tripping over rocks and falling in. I fought the fish for about 30 mins and when she was finally in front of me I realized that there was no way I could land her without a net. Well, I didn't bring a net with me so some other people who were there fishing ran over to the Norfork Trout Dock and got a net for me. I'm glad they were there cuz' not only did they get the net, but they had the camera to photograph it too!
  6. Hello everyone! Cant wait for the round the clock dam generation to stop up here!!! Last monday afternoon, the norfork dam was shut down for a few hours and it was a welcomed reprieve from all the highwater! I moved to Arkansas almost two years ago and immediately fell in love with the raw beauty of the Ozarks, and the fishing. I must admit, the fishing here in Baxter County is MUCH better than Riverside, CA!!!!
