Fishrman Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Put in at Viola and started in a transition area throwing a Luck E Strike jig, no takers. There is a quite a bit of color from Viola to Jake Creek. Caught a short largemouth on crappie jig on a flat up from ski buoys. Finally caught a nice keeper up from there on a channel bank, probably around 3.5 lbs. caught it on a wart. Saw water temps. anywhere from 45.7 to 49. Saw several dying shad, but could not catch one on a jerk bait. Well that is it for now, better than my last three trips.
focused fishing Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Fisherman, You fopund 46 - 49 degree water? That's awsome let's hope this cold front and the 2' feet of snow they are predicting (hee, hee, hee) doesn't cool it back down. With the water that warm throw the wart till your arm falls off! Thanks, for the report. Members Slabhunter Posted March 3, 2008 Members Posted March 3, 2008 We stayed at Hickory Hollow up the Kings River. We caught six Spots around the dock and my buddy caught a 2.5Ib LM on Saturday. I think we would have caught more but our trolling motor battery went dead. I think we did alright for fishin the Rock for the first time.
