DoveTail Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Has anyone been on the river in the last day or so? Wondering how it looks after the rains earlier this week? It was up last week and stained, I am guessing some muddy water still?
Paola Cat Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Dove .... Trying to make it down Saturday. Looking at the BSSP stream flow gauge, I imagine the river is still up. PC Cheers. PC
DoveTail Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 PC, Can you post the link for BSSP flow, I tried from www.nws.noaa.gov but can find any details on the smaller streams / rivers. Thanks.

Members tarpon14 Posted March 9, 2008 Members Posted March 9, 2008 Fished Barclay today - amazing how much the channel structure can change after these big rains. It's still pretty stained there, with a lot of water flowing... tough to wade it when you can't see the bottom. Just took out the spinning rod, but managed a couple of 15" rainbows. It ought to be a lot more fishable in a few days.
DoveTail Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 I tried up at the Bennet Springs access area downstream of Hwy 64. Water is up and stained but should be good enough to throw some big flies. I tried to wade some areas but it was getting up into my fly vest and it was cold so I didn't want to get that wet. Did not have any luck today. Did not see any people fishing. I did see quite a few bait fishing on Saturday so that area may be cleaned out until the next stocking?
