Members KansasBoy13 Posted March 7, 2008 Members Posted March 7, 2008 Havent fished Bull Shoals one time and was wondering who could help me. Do most of my fishing from the boat but have found some places on Table Rock that I do extremely extremely well from bank in the spring, as I love bank fishing, was wondering if there are any places like that on Bull Shoals and maybe even for walleye right now? Thanks
WebFreeman Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 The pothole down to swan creek and places on beaver creek offer some good bank fishing. If you know where River Run park is next to the 76 bridge, you'll kind of be at the hub. You can go upstread on either side of the lake there and find spots. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
Members KansasBoy13 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Members Posted March 7, 2008 Would I have any luck at all this time of year?
Members Scarecrow Posted March 7, 2008 Members Posted March 7, 2008 The poor weather pattern will make things tough this time of year, but the best is yet to come. Spring can see a real up-swing in the fishing activity. The walleye will soon be moving and there are lots of oppoortunities from a boat or the bank. If we ever get a good white bass run like the past (I have been here 3 years and haven't seen it yet), they say it can be awesome. I am from Kansas myself and I am trying to adjust to the different styles here in the Ozarks. What part of Ks are you from? Good fishing
WebFreeman Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I agree w/ scarecrow. I'd keep watching the forum or watching for fisherman/boats around there. With our weird up and down temps and snow lately, I'd say things need to stabilize, but it's getting to be that time of year. Seems like night fishing is the most popular for walleye. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
Members KansasBoy13 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Members Posted March 7, 2008 Scarecrow, I'm from very southeast Kansas (what about you) used to fish the Neosho river, ponds, and strip pits. I know what you mean tho the fishing here is like a culture shock! Never had fished clear water like this around here, heard it was different didnt really think it was the much different tho but wow is it ever! Just now getting table rock figured out to where it satisfies me, I about gave up after the first few years, but just gotta keep at it and listen to people. But no walleye either where I come from have caught two fishing for white bass on plastic grubs in the Neosho, so what works best for them? Minnows I'm guessing? Thanks guys.
Members KansasBoy13 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Members Posted March 7, 2008 Also is there a good map of Bull Shoals because the one on here takes me to page cannot be displayed. Thanks
Members Scarecrow Posted March 10, 2008 Members Posted March 10, 2008 I hear what you are saying about the clear water and taking time to adjust. I am from the SW corner of Kansas so mudding water is all I know. Figured out how important electronics are for that deep clear water. Just keep prayer the whites will make a run like the good old days at the Bull. I hear it can be awesome. As far as the walleyes, we have had a little luck fishing jigs or trolling. Have yet to find a good pattern. Tough to learn so much about two lakes at the same time. Keep me posted on what you find and what is working......
