Members Jesse B Posted March 15, 2008 Members Posted March 15, 2008 Ok we were going to go up to Gastons while Im out for spring break but they will be running most power units for a while and I was wanting to do some wade fly fishing so this led us to try and find anouther place to go. Our second place would be spring river but I just dont care much for it. Could yall point us to a place that wade fishing would be possible with a good amount of fish in the river? Also wouldnt mind a few tips on what to throw
Danoinark Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I would suspect you will find high water on all of the Arkansas and Missouri Tailwaters right now. If you don't like the Spring then you might consider some of the Blue Ribbon trophy trout waters in Missouri. The North Fork of the White comes to mind.... Brian Sloss Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If you were thinking of going to the Srping river, the Eleven Point is not far due north on hwy 19. We are a little on the high side right now, but it is receding? When is spring break? It is better to rent a canoe or bring one and stop to wade the shoals. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Members Jesse B Posted March 15, 2008 Author Members Posted March 15, 2008 Spring Break is this comming week.
Terry Beeson Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I fished the Spring today... Water is up a bit and a little dingy, but sure beats fighting 8 units at BSD and 4 at Norfork... Action was not 'hot" at Lassiter, but did hold my interest for a couple of hours with 8 or 9 to hand... Brian Sloss Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 If you are coming to the Eleven Point, you should call ahead if you need a canoe @417-778=6497 as the rentals only operate by reservation this time of year. the river is still a little high and dingy right now, but may be better toward the end of the week. But the spring river is only eighteen miles away, so you can do both over the coming week easily. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
