timsfly Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Water is still very high, just shy of being out of its banks, still brown, running hard. lots of limbs, and debries in the water. Yesterday the hole by the hatchery were the twin fall are located, was covered with bark, limbs and floating debries, it looked like it was covered by a nasty brown carpet. The water will continue to drop a bit each day, It might be fly fishable by sat, but it will still be tough, a sink tip line would be handy and a 6wt rod would be just great for the weight you will need to be throwing. I think I'll fish tomorrow with 1/8 oz jigs and power eggs, just for something to do. Members mbgrulz Posted March 20, 2008 Members Posted March 20, 2008 so how's RR's flood situation looking now? are the waters receding any? i was planning to spend much of my spring break up there, but the rain really put a damper on it. now i am stuck at the house and getting extremely stir crazy!! thank goodness for march madness.
timsfly Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 It is better the water has dropped 4 or 5 feet, and is now more green than brown, still we are running way over normal, I doubt there will be in real good fly fishing for a few more days. The people that are really catching trout right now are using power bait eggs and worms up in Zone 1. I talked a couple of guys that had caught a few on big 1/8th oz jigs.
