Members jerkmybait Posted March 20, 2008 Members Posted March 20, 2008 With the understanding that far greater tragedies than my springbreak fishing trip having a sharp curveball thrown at it are happening. I was wondering if anyone has any kind of advice on what to do...? I know nothing quite like this has ever happened before, but Table Rock was a daunting enough task for some guys from Minnesota, with out all this crazy flooding. Our whole game plan, that we spent the last 3 months going over, didn't quite take this in to consideration. Any suggestions, theories, really anything, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and god bless, Nate Nate
rps Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 With the drastic change in water level and color, I suggest you try colorado bladed chartreuse/blue spinner bait reeled slowly. In Oklahoma, dingy cold lakes meant the bait had to be loud and slow. Dragged jigs meet that criteria as well. Good Luck.
jay bird Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 If you are not 100% grounded to Table Rock you might try lake Swepco in Northwest Arkansas if the ramp has been fixed. I am sure the lake is up, but it is a discharge lake for one of the power companies in that area so will have some unbelievable water temps for this time of year. Go on the Beaver Lake spot on this forum and ask some of the guys down there about swepco and if it is fishable, if not you always have the trout parks, not as fun, but they should be fishable in a couple of days. Good luck. PS Go Fighting Sioux
captmac Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Whatever you decide to do be very careful on the water lots of debris and some of it with an appetite for lower units and boat hulls. good info so far as to what baits and techniques to use in the cold dirty water. be safe To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless
