Members stephen seward Posted March 21, 2008 Members Posted March 21, 2008 I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but I've ordered three of them. They will let you order more than one seperately. 60 flies that I know will get use, for $30 is a killer deal. http://www.orvis.com/store/product_choice....&pf_id=76TK
catman Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Check on the shipping from Orvis? It might be $12-$15 they will insure and confirm, now you have around $45 total maybe, that will be 75 cents a fly. I can tie my own for around 25 cents. I have found that the store bought flys are trashed after you have caught about 3 trout on most (not all), thread comes lose and so on. They don't use head cement on the volume of flys they tie where they need to. I can fish ONE of my Elk Hair Caddis flys all day and catch lots of trout and still use it on another day. I'm cheap and even take my old tore up used flys and strip them and re-use the hooks and beads if I don't lose them the to the brush & tree Gods. If you don't tie it's not a bad deal. I was born at night, but not last night. Odds are with the prepared...
