Members krazy3t Posted April 4, 2008 Members Posted April 4, 2008 My wife received 2 fly rods that were her Grandfathers. She would like to find out anything she can about them before using them. (Letting me use them) They say Garcia Conolon Sample number R-3-23 and the other is Garcia Conolon Sample number R-3-24. If anyone has information about these it would greatly appreciated. Thanks! KrAzY3T Thank you, KrAzY3T
Danoinark Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Without taking a gander, I would presume they are Fiberglass. I don't know of any Garcia's that were anything but. They will be hardy and fine for use. As to monetary worth they would not command a high price, but as to her sentimental value they are priceless. But I bet grand dad would like to see them used. zander Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I have an old Garcia conolon flyrod that I got when my cousin was cleaning out the attic of a house he had just bought. I really like it. Heavier than most rods nowadays for sure, but it is built like a tank.
